Really excited to finally share this painting I finished back when it was still freezing in London and I needed to be surrounded by three radiators just to look at a paintbrush. It felt like a huge breakthrough in terms of palette and technique. For the tree, I worked pretty intuitively by applying minimal, very dry paint in vertical brush strokes. The little guy perching under the tree was another story entirely. He took looks of laboring over…I repainted him about a hundred times, just to get his expression right. Really proud of the result.
