My painting “Alleine durch den Märchenwald” will be on view at our show “Catch 22” at @bootstrapcharity Print house Gallery until July 28th ⭐️

The show is open Monday-Friay, 9-5 pm
And we’ll be holding special opening hours this weekend, Sat-Sunday - dm us to if you’re wanting to come by during the weekend ! So please drop by!

Really hope y’all can come by to this painting in person, while it’s on view⭐️⭐️⭐️it’s a really special work that I repainted about a hundred times…and yet in the end it kind of just clicked into place :)

Really excited to finally share this painting I finished back when it was still freezing in London and I needed to be surrounded by three radiators just to look at a paintbrush. It felt like a huge breakthrough in terms of palette and technique. For the tree, I worked pretty intuitively by applying minimal, very dry paint in vertical brush strokes. The little guy perching under the tree was another story entirely. He took looks of laboring over…I repainted him about a hundred times, just to get his expression right. Really proud of the result. So excited to share that my pearlescent boys “Cherub and Foal” will be on view at @sohorevue as part of “Horse Girl”— opening in two weeks 🎠

Artists: Alice Brasser, Laura Benson, Abigail McGinley, Jane Mechner, Sofia Serpa Arango, and Nana Wolke

This exhibition looks at both the symbolic meaning in the Chinese calendar and the contemporary rhetoric around the socio-political realities of the aspirational ‘horse girl’. Taking inspiration from the cultural zeitgeist’s seeming obsession with horses, the artists look at both the raising of a call of arms for us to charge after what we want, and be who we are in ‘The Year of the Horse’, and the nuanced connotations of being a ‘horse girl’ that pervade the current art world.

Javier (ghost)

My little horse rider, Javier, in the color “Ghost”. This is a special little guy I made to accompany the release of our interview film with @hometownjournal.eu (now on youtube)🤓🍎 Spent many long days shaping and moulding this man+horse duo from nothing but a @maxonzbrush sphere into this stunningly lethargic vision of two friends… perpetually chilling

Loverboy (Juan Gabriel) (2026)

Painted in homage to Juan Gabo, whose music I got really into last year before during a trip to Mexico. I probably replayed the instrumental interlude to his live performance of ‘Así Fue’ about a million times since coming across it. It’s grand, it’s cinematic, it’s monumental. His voice, the music, the emotion he carries … It feels like the end of an emotional marathon every time I hear it.
But this painting is less about his grand & often flamboyant stage presence. Instead I chose to depict Juan Gabriel as a young starlet, based on a photograph taken of him when he just starting out. He’s posing tentatively but with his gaze holds a real presence and maybe, the promise of something great.. 🥀 by @sofia.serpa.arango

Since our show Horse Girl is coming to a close this week, I wanted to do a little Cherub & Foal BTS appreciation post…

Swipe to see the process of making my pearlescent boy in reverse order. It all started with a digital sculpture of a baby boy and a baby horse… it was definitely intense (immaculate conception vibes)… and it only got more intense. After 3d printing the design I embarked on the longest casting process of my adult life, featuring a a 35 part plaster mould + blood sweat and tears. Then it was finally time to fill the mould with porcelain, cleaned up all the details and then cooked that thing in the kiln until it was time to drench it in a beautiful petroleum-like mother of pearl lustre 😍 and that was that. The last day to see these guys irl is tomorrow at Soho Revue Gallery for the closing of “Horse Girl”
