Eight years ago today, I underwent my first myomectomy that removed 17 fibroids.
At the time, I thought it was the beginning of the end of my journey with this condition.
I was wrong. I had another myomectomy in 2023.
Six months ago, I underwent a hysterectomy, joining the nearly 600,000 women in the United States who undergo one each year.
And yet…today isn’t just a reminder of what I’ve lost.
It’s a celebration of what God is growing from it.
Today, on what would have been my grandmother, Evelyn Lelora Purrier’s 91st birthday, we officially launched the
@lelorafoundation.
Naming this foundation after my grandmother was one of the easiest decisions I’ve ever made. She embodied unwavering faith, resilience, compassion, and a love for others.
As I walked through my own reproductive health journey, I kept coming back to one belief: if my pain could help another woman feel less alone, then it couldn’t be wasted.
That’s the heart of Lelora.
Our mission is to increase awareness, education, support, and access to resources for women navigating reproductive health challenges through whole-person wellness because women deserve answers, compassionate care, and hope.
Launching today was intentional. It’s my way of honoring my journey, the woman whose name this foundation carries, while inviting others to join us in changing the future of women’s reproductive health.
If this mission resonates with you, I’d love for you to visit our website, share our story, and become part of this journey.
Happy Heavenly Birthday, Nana.
I hope to make you proud.
Love always,
Evelyn Lelora’s Granddaughter 🤍
