Have you believed in an idea so much you bet your house on it?

For some of the founders on stage at the Icehouse Ventures Showcase last night that has been their reality. Before the funding rounds, pitch decks and growing teams, these kiwis bootstrapped, borrowed, and worked multiple jobs to give their idea a chance.

The Kiwi founders presenting last night are solving extraordinary global problems across health, energy, waste, food, transport, education and space. I was inspired by the conviction they showed to keep going when success was not certain, money was tight and sensible people were telling them to stop.

Here’s to the founders, and the hard-working teams behind them, who refuse to quit.
