⭕️lympia 2026 Recap *cue long emotional post*
This weekend meant absolutely everything to me. It’s hard to put into words how much bodybuilding has changed my life and why exactly it means so much to me.
For 16 years I was a competitive dancer. Traveling to competitions across different states since I was a kid. I joined a D1 college dance team where we trained, had conditioning, performances & competitions. Dance was my entire life. It taught me discipline, the concept of showing up when you didn’t want to, and trying over and over until you get it right. But as much as I loved dance, I never felt like it allowed me to really be me.
I always was bigger than the other girls. I had a larger structure, wider, heavier, denser no matter what diet I went on or how much exercise I did. Being competitive in dance and working for more athletic ability required me to shrink myself into a body that wasn’t meant to be mine. Years of training, conditioning, and dieting eventually led to an ED I became excellent at hiding and was an absolute b*tch to kick. Dance gave me so much but also took so much because I never was comfortable or confident in who I was.
Fast forward to when an old coach & mentor of mine encouraged me to get into bodybuilding. I stopped being a cardio bunny and started seriously strength training in June 2020. I hired my first bodybuilding coach in Oct 2022. After that I never looked back. I finally found something I felt was meant for me. I found my home.
I hope everyone is as lucky and privileged enough in this lifetime to find something that sets their soul on fire. Gets them up out of bed in the morning, and gives them a sense of purpose and fulfillment that makes their heart explode. I love bodybuilding & what this industry stands for. How it trains your mind, pushes you daily, and forces you to face the deepest versions of yourself.
Thank you
@mrolympiallc & to the Pro athletes who set the standard and inspire all of us amateurs to go bigger, go harder. I am so grateful for the people I have met through this, and the positive environment it has created for me. This experience was completely surreal. A dream. I am truly in awe ❤️
