Paris Protests See Designer Stores Targeted by Looters. Stores in Paris and other French cities have been targeted amid nationwide demonstrations on Saturday 17 October. Footage and imagery has emerged of Arcteryx, Louis Vuitton, Apple, Celine, Hermes, Dior as well as prominent department store Galleries Lafayette being targeted by looters. The demonstrations grew out of student protests over conditions in schools and teacher shortages, expanding to include anger over rising living costs and deteriorating public services. Students were joined by trade unions and other demonstrators across France.
