But about it, the stomach is built to mix and digest everything, so mixing the two should not α problem. Itis It is more likely that the quantity of the NEW addition (eg suddenly adding α large amount of raw when the pet is only used tokibbles) that may Cause tummy upset. Some nutrients (like vitamin A Retinol) found in nutrient-dense sources like liver are not water soluble, and c'an accumulate in the body over time instead of being passed out when they pee. This can result in vitamin A toxicity. If you're you already feeding α balanced diet, it may not be necessary to supplement with nutrient- dense treats or toppers. A little weekend read 🔖

Feeding raw 🥩 has always been slightly controversial (but becoming increasingly common), and I’ve always found it fascinating to read what people think of it (good or bad).

Nutrition is never in black and white; there’re often grey areas, every animal have their own individual needs, and context matters ☝🏻

One vet even said that Bella definitely needs to be on heartworm medication every month especially because she eats raw and is more prone to parasites and worms 🫣 Yep.

Agree that cost can still be managed if u prep your own food. If we divide according to per meal cost, sometimes canned food can be even more expensive (but also dependent on what brands of canned food)!

The point is having to build the digestive system back to acidic for the raw to digest properly again, that means some detoxing when they first start getting raw as well. People can’t get past this stage and start to think their pets don’t do well on raw unfortunately, especially after a long time on purely kibbles (& canned food) that turns the digestive system pretty alkalic.
