New podcast interview is up on
@punkhouseoakland podcast. In my teen years, I was lucky enough to be taken in by a bunch of sweethearts in the Punk scene in the start of the 1990s in the east Bay of San Francisco. Our local all ages club
@924gilmanstreet was where I played my first show, in 1993. The impact that being a part of this scene has on my life up until this day cannot be underestimated and still astounds me. To be surrounded by people who believed in me, supported me and helped launch me into a life of music, art and community is something very special in this world.outcasts for outcasts! Freaks for freaks.
It was a joy to have this conversation with my friend Elizabeth as we talk about what it has and still means to us to be Punk. I’ve really enjoyed listening the conversations she’s having with folks from this time in that special scene.
As we continue as a species down this very uncertain path of the scary times that we live in, it is more important to me than ever to hold my communities close. And 35 years later, to consider what the past meant, with that young heart that took his first steps to where I am today. Sending love out to everyone today.
