PXU NAEP and KONEKTED invite our students to participate in a Photovoice Project for Indigenous Peoples Day!

Use the power of photography to share your story, celebrate your culture, and highlight the people, places, traditions, and passions that shape who you are. Through photos and creative expression, students will work together to create a visual art piece that honors Indigenous identity, history, and resilience!

Let’s Make this no Maida, No Onion-Garlic Navratri Special Sabudana paneer Jhol Momo in Nepali Style without any Tamjam . Ingredients For the momo 1 cup sabudana (tapioca pearls) ½ cup grated carrot ½ cup crumbled fresh paneer Salt to taste (as per your vrat rules) 1 tsp ghee For the creamy jhol 2 medium tomatoes 2 tbsp peanuts 1 tbsp sesame seeds 1 green chilli ½ tsp grated ginger (optional) 1 tsp mustard oil Water as needed Salt to taste (as per your vrat rules) Method Soak the sabudana: Soak for a few hours until softened. Drain thoroughly and let the excess moisture evaporate. Prepare the filling: Mix grated carrot, crumbled paneer, salt and ghee. Make the jhol paste: Dry-roast peanuts and sesame seeds. Separately, heat mustard oil and cook tomatoes, green chilli and optional ginger until the tomatoes become very soft. Blend: Grind the roasted peanuts, sesame seeds and cooked tomatoes into a smooth paste. Cook the jhol: Transfer the paste to a pan, add water and salt as needed, and simmer until thick and creamy. Shape the momos: Mash the drained sabudana. With lightly oiled hands, flatten a portion, add the paneer-carrot filling and carefully seal into a ball. Wet your hands slightly if needed. Steam: Place the balls on greased or parchment-lined steamer plates and steam for about 20–25 minutes, checking that the sabudana is cooked through and the balls hold their shape. Serve: Place the steamed momos in a bowl and pour the hot creamy jhol over them. Enjoy immediately! Tips for best results Drain the sabudana really well so the mixture is easier to shape. Steam one test momo first; if it doesn’t hold together, the sabudana may need more draining or mashing. Vrat rules vary by household, so confirm that mustard oil, sesame seeds and your chosen seasonings are permitted.
