GUESS WHAT. I am now a voting member of the @loukydemparty executive committee!!!!

Just 13 months ago, I attended my first meeting with the Louisville Democratic Party’s Volunteer Committee where I met @jessicarhaggy. She invited me to coffee and asked me how I wanted to get involved. She mentioned that the @demwomansclubjeffco needed a secretary, and that’s where I met the amazing @hlrice01 and Brook Benningfield.

Since then, I have shown up at meetings, I have knocked hundreds of doors, I have been on the executive team of the volunteer committee, and I have worked with the fantastic @kywithmelina to get her elected to metro council where she rightfully should be.

And before all that, I saw a reel from @westernwatergirl talking about how you can help shape the direction of your local party if you just keep showing up, and that idea took root in my head and grew!

But I wouldn’t have gotten this involved if it wasn’t for @jessicarhaggy calling me in at that first meeting, the amazing community of women that inspire me to do the work including all those mentioned and the human embodiment of sunshine @warriorwhimsey, Brook Benningfield for encouraging me to apply and her incredibly kind words nominating me for the role, ALL the people who have shown up to events and to canvass with me even during this excessively hot summer, and so many more!

There is SO MUCH more to do, especially leading up to November 3rd where we have the chance to elect @booker4ky to take over Mitch McConnell’s senate seat, keep the Louisville Metro Council’s democratic majority (SO IMPORTANT), and keep good people who help prevent the policies that pass in the super majority republican state legislature from being absolutely abismal for us like @rachelroarxdistrict38.

And we need all of us. Whether you can give a singular hour, an hour each month, and hour each week, money, resources, anything you’ve got. We need you!
