9 days agoUsed to go all the time for years. Stopped last year. Not really a car ‘meet’ anymore. Not leaving my car out for kids to climb over. My kids wouldn’t dream of doing that but not enough parents take the same view.
11 days agoThe feeling has gone, you have to be wearing a checked shirt and Barbour gilet driving a gt3 or Audi.
11 days agoI agree, the best part of the scramble was the hidden gems parked on the edges of the main site. So much less to see without them.
11 days agoWorryingly they are quoting ‘Martyns Law’ as one the reasons@for the change, but now you can enter the car parking FOC and just wander around there if you want - cant see how this avoids some of the potential terrorism threats this law is to prevent? Just moves the threat to the car parking. Also people were just wandering in and out later in the day as the ticket check area was non existent.
11 days agoThey've increased the ticket price for next year and also dropped the age in which you have to pay for an adult ticket to 15. Nice.
12 days agoIt’s been going down hill for the last few years. Getting far too corporate and more like a family day out rather than a car event. Been going since 2015 and it used to be one of the very best events. Tickets on the gate (£5 in the early days I think) was so much better than all this sold out months in advance bollocks.
12 days agoVery dissappinted today. Felt very empty and lacked the quality of a usual Scramble. Today felt a little like the beginning of the end.
12 days agoAgree with your thoughts - The best way to describe it would be that now you go to the event, rather than be part of it.
12 days agoIt was criminal to not be allowed re entry what a dumb system. Totally agree the car park had probably a better selection and always a fun walk around 😂
