COMBE MARTIN | Tree Day.

I don’t think I have ever been quite so happy on a building site.

The weather was absolutely brutal. Freezing cold, pouring rain, mud everywhere, and yet I could barely contain my excitement.

Walking onto site and seeing these magnificent trees arriving, watching the @wilmark.lc team carry them into position through the mud, was one of those moments I will never forget.

We have spent so long imagining how this garden would feel, how the trees would frame the house, soften the architecture and create these beautiful spaces around our home. And suddenly, standing there in the rain, I could see it all coming together.

There is something incredibly emotional about seeing a vision you have carried in your head for so long become a reality, especially when it is your own home.

I have such admiration for the incredible team at @wilmark.lc, who worked tirelessly in the most challenging conditions, and @plume__studio, whose beautiful vision for the landscape is finally taking shape.

I honestly didn’t want the day to end. Despite the cold, the rain and the mud, I was completely in my element.

One of my happiest days at Combe Martin so far.
