2 days agoSeen it this evening. Just wondering if Wagner really imagined it to be situated in Chernobyl? Because that’s how it looked like….
4 days agoThis stage design and stage direction, once again, is utter nonsense that has nothing to do with the original libretto. It is the pseudo-intellectual nonsense of a half-educated, pseudo-intellectual director who understands nothing of opera, music or gratitude whatsoever. The only thing keeping this production afloat is the brilliant music direction by the genial maestro Hrůša!!! ❤️🎼❤️Enough of these productions in the style of "German director’s theatre"!!! 🤮🤮🤮Put on some Czech operas as well; you’ve got the most qualified of the qualified there now!!! Smetana – *Dalibor*, *The Two Widows*, *The Kiss*, *The Secret*, *The Devil’s Wall*, *Libuše*. Dvořák – *The Jacobin*. Fibich – Šárka, The Tempest (based on Shakespeare), The Fall of Arkun, The Bride of Messina (based on Schiller). Foerster – Eva, Deborah, Jessica (based on Shakespeare) 🙏🏻❤️🎶
7 days agoIs just amazing and special as a music and a drama to watch! It does special justice to Wagner’s last opera!
