This Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate Dr. Alison M. Rangel, OTD, OTR/L, a leader who is making occupational therapy more inclusive for practitioners and the communities they serve.
✨ Chair of TODOS: Network of Hispanic/Latine OT Practitioners & Students, building community and visibility for Latine voices in OT
✨ AOTA Multicultural, Diversity & Inclusion Network representative, advocating for diverse perspectives at the national level
✨ Built nationwide mentorship programs that connect students and new practitioners with guidance and support
✨ Created pathways for underrepresented scholars to enter and advance in the profession
✨ COTAD member, part of the Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity
✨ Equity-focused scholar whose work advances systemic equity across OT
Her work shows that inclusion starts with opening doors and making sure the next generation has someone holding them open. 💛
