After some delay, another incredible show from my summer season at the Santa Fe Opera, Lili Elbe! Designed by the wonderful Allen Moyer, directed by James Robinson, and charged by Laura Greenfield, I got to help throw texture and paint and all kinds of things at this incredible set! Pictures really don’t do this experience justice. It will be continuing its journey at the Seattle Opera in 2029.

A Neanderthal who died 75,000 years ago may have been struck through the chest by a sharpened wooden spear.

And it’s possibly the earliest evidence of lethal violence involving such a weapon.

The archaeologists discovered a 15mm hole in a shoulder blade found in a cave in Iraqi Kurdistan.

Ramai di media sosial, insiden tragis menimpa seorang bocah perempuan berusia 3 tahun yang meninggal dunia usai diduga terjatuh dari lantai 5 sebuah hotel di Samarinda, Kalimantan Timur.

Peristiwa tersebut terjadi di Hotel Mesra, Jalan Pahlawan, Samarinda, pada Rabu (14/10/2026) sekitar pukul 09.30 WITA. Korban yang diketahui berinisial RKS diduga terjatuh dari balkon kamar hotel saat kedua orang tuanya sedang sarapan.

Saat kejadian, korban diketahui berada di kamar nomor 5101 bersama adiknya yang baru berusia 1 tahun. Sementara itu, kedua orang tuanya tengah berada di restoran hotel untuk menikmati sarapan.

Informasi mengenai alasan korban ditinggalkan di kamar pun sempat simpang siur. Awalnya, kedua anak tersebut disebut masih tertidur ketika orang tuanya turun untuk sarapan. Namun, muncul informasi lain yang menyebut korban memilih tetap berada di kamar karena tidak ingin ikut bersama orang tuanya.

Tak lama kemudian, korban ditemukan di bagian bawah bangunan hotel, tepatnya di sekitar area parit. Sang ayah yang mendengar teriakan dari luar hotel langsung bergegas menuju lokasi dan mengevakuasi putrinya.

Dalam pemeriksaan awal di lokasi kejadian, polisi mendapati pintu akses menuju balkon kamar dalam kondisi terbuka dan tidak terkunci. Korban sempat dilarikan ke RSUD Abdoel Wahab Sjahranie Samarinda, tetapi nyawanya tidak dapat diselamatkan.
