Especially if your spouse had a faith crisis or stopped participating in the church after you married, you may find that previously shared interests or activities have changed. For example, you might have attended church activities together or worshipped in the temple together and that may not be the case now. It’s important to continue to strengthen your relationship, create memories together, and participate in shared activities. Continue to go on dates. Find ways to connect and to nurture your spouse. For my husband and I, this includes going on walks together, trying new restaurants, traveling, playing games, and more. Find things that you enjoy doing together and spend time doing these activities. Prioritize your marriage. This may look different in different seasons, depending on your finances, ages of children, and so on. But make it a priority to continue to strengthen your relationship.

What have you done to nurture your marriage?

I love this. It can be so hard when we have an ideal picture in our minds of how things are "supposed to look" in our marriage, family, and very lives. And when it doesn't turn out that way, we can really struggle. I love your advice to nurture the relationship, because relationships are at the core of the gospel, and of the plan, and God will always bless our efforts, even if what we hope for/pray for doesn't happen in our timing. Thanks for sharing!
