I need your help to throw a legit permitted @jamattheparkatx here in Austin, Texas. I was trying to organize a cool Halloween themed jam the end of this month but it just turned out to be too much for me to do this by myself and by the end of the month. I’m estimating it costs around ~$2k to throw a permitted outdoor event here with the reservation fees, permit fees, insurance etc. According to the city, any outdoor gathering above 49 people is a “large event” and now requires things like medical, security, trash plan etc. I want to have an open to the public event so I wasn’t planning on charging tickets but would still like to find a way to raise the funds to do this with my community. It really takes a lot to do a permitted outdoor event through the city of Austin. But I think it would be worth it to not have to worry about getting shutdown and to do this in a legit way. It’s been cool to see this grow, I think we need this kind of space where we can play and have fun together in a unique and creative way. Please let me know if you would like to help in any way. Maybe we could fundraise, start a kickstart or something else. I would love to have vendors and sponsors and all the cool things we love about the jams like flow artists, pole dancing, shuffling, fire dancing etc. this is a place for all and I think the city needs it. I almost wanted to quit because of how much it takes to do this but I know with your help we can!! Much love guys, can’t wait to see this happen soon. ❤️‍🔥
