Day 3 of getting better at home matcha lattes! šŸ‘Æ
The matcha is matcha-ing, but my hand-eye coordination is not šŸ™ƒ. But we are getting better!! Taking all critiques.
This was a maple sea salt matcha attempt and the flavor was SO good! The matcha paste looked divine—I honestly don’t know how I missed the cup! 😭 I’m still not over it haha. And then the cold foam attempt was pretty much whipped cream, so I need to work on that too!
Curious: does everyone use a scale for their measurements, or what are your ratios?! āš–ļø And thanks for all the combo recs!! Like spiced pumpkin, strawberry, banana, mango… so many delicious ideas! Some of you even make your own syrups?! I want to know everything! šŸ˜

I’ve been working on this so much and my realization is to use a milk frother to mix some heaping tablespoons of coconut milk powder into hot water before adding the whisked matcha. It makes it sooooo creamy!!

Best matcha ever is Marukyu Koyamaen, I love Yugen and Isuzu. Refuse to drink anything else it’s just the best!! I used a precise scale in the beginning to sift 4g and then I got used to what that looked like and stopped using the scale! 10ml water room temp to form a paste and 40ml at 70degrees Celsius (not boiling to not burn the matcha) (a kettle with a temperature display helps). Whisk intensely for 1min in a W shape (set a timer) and then for 30 seconds slowly to break up bubbles. Master this foamy matcha and then get into flavours! Sounds technical and nitpicky but this is the ultimate method
