In Los Angeles for the 6th annual Gala in celebration of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, Jacob Elordi hosted the latest Cartier Cinema Club. The actor personally selected Opening Night by John Cassavetes for the screening and discussion panel with Sean Baker and Kim Morgan at the American Cinematheque at Aero Theater in Santa Monica.

The choice says more than the hosting. A star in his twenties picks a Cassavetes film from 1977, and suddenly the evening is a handover: one generation of actors telling the next which work deserves to survive. Houses that fund rooms like this are preserving taste, not just sponsoring it.
