🦬 In Poland’s Podlasie region, encounters with European bison can happen surprisingly close to home. The Białowieża Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014, is one of Europe’s most important refuges for this iconic mammal, known in Polish as the żubr. 🌳 The European bison became extinct in the wild in the early 20th century. Poland played a major role in its recovery, with the species reintroduced to the Białowieża Forest in 1952. Today, Podlasie remains a key region for its conservation, combining unique natural heritage with rural traditions. 🍎 Although a bison eating an apple may look harmless, these powerful wild animals can reach speeds of 40 km/h. The Białowieża National Park recommends keeping at least 50 metres away. Never approach or feed them. Protecting Poland’s wildlife means allowing its most remarkable inhabitants to remain wild. His right sinus had been completely full for three years. He came in for a sinus infection. Not a toothache. On the scan you can see the difference right away: one sinus clear and dark, the other one packed. Then look at the upper right wisdom tooth. That whole shape around the root is an abscess, and there is a hole running from it straight up into the sinus. For three years that tooth had been draining into his sinus. Your upper back teeth sit right under the sinus floor. When a sinus stays infected and nothing seems to touch it, the teeth underneath are worth a look. A cone beam CT is how you actually see it.
