Sethan is now ROMP ready.

One of my biggest inspirations for putting in the effort to create a crag up in the Himalayas was ROMP, ever since I first attended it back in 2018. The concept of ROMP is so beautiful, and I always thought, if we were to conduct something like this up North, where could we do it? There was no such crag with the same density of sport climbing and trad routes combined as Bangalore had across its different crags.

But now, we can say that we have it in Sethan – Tushitlok (Tunna) and Chika.

It feels like I have fulfilled a promise to myself and to all of you. If I may say so, I am so proud of myself for being part of this great tribe.

To all the people who supported and backed my idea six years ago and have continued doing so ever since, I have so much gratitude for you all for helping, believing and waiting 🤗 I can’t thank you all enough.

I can literally name everyone here who showed up generously for this cause. I haven’t forgotten a single person out there.

And over the last couple of years, the support from Allied Petzl has been a really big boost to the whole team. Many more new areas and lines are coming up. Our CDI team is not stopping just yet.

Keep climbing, keep learning, keep progressing and give back to the community.

*Tapasya* 5.10/6A+ ~125m _5 pitch sport climb Chikka _ P1 5.10a 7+2 Face climbing good holds , flowy moves one or two cruxy moves. Tops out on a grassy ledge. Enough room for 2 people to stand comfortably. P2 5.9 8+2 The climb goes through a corner. Involves a bunch of stemming style climbing. Big pinch like features make the climb easy. Grassy patches here and there but the bolts are quite visible. Overall makes for a interesting + fun climb Tops out on a nice ledge P3 5.10b 6+ 2 Money pitch! Clean exposed slab, plenty of crimpy holds. One or two tricky moves maybe. Slightly run out after 3rd bolt. Good ledge to top out on. P4 5.9 5+ 2 The first 3 bolts you climb on clean rock. Post which the climb goes through a grassy/shruby patch. Plenty of holds to look for amongst the vegetation. The last 2 bolts are spaced out! But the climbing is fairly easy. Feel free to pull on shrubs and roots if needed :p _Although after the 3rd bolt it was possible to go left and avoid the grassy section , it would make the climb much harder. Hence to keep the grade of the climb consistent it made sense to deal with the shrubs._ P5 5.10 8+2 Yet another money pitch! After the initial section which brings you to a throny shrub. The climb gets super fun credit to the layback section. Use the sidepull and the undercling to stay on the wall. One tricky move to get over the lip onto the mossy slab. And finally you get to the top of the climb! _After P5 you can scramble a few feet and get to the top of the wall_. *For Exit* Either top out and walk off or rap down. Each station has rap rings. Given that each pitch is less than 30meters safe to rap off with a 60m rope. Route developed over two seasons May’25 and Oct’26 By CDI and gang The name of the route Tapasy ( Sanskrit word for Austerity) depicts the work put it by a lot of people. multiple load ferries, fixing ropes, ground support. The route is a great entry point + stepping stone for anyone who wants to get into alpine big wall climbing. The entire adventure is doable Sethan to Sethan in 12 hours Get dropped at Hampta trial head Hike to Chikka (90mins) - Chikka to base of the wall ( 60min steep hike)
