What a day! It was fun until it wasn’t and then we all rallied to make it fun again.

Ran like a rookie early. Calves were cramping at the end of lap three, then locked up bad during a shoe swap. I headed out with @runboulet - the best pacer one could ask for - to see what we could salvage of the day. After over ~45 min of sitting on the side of the trail trying to get the legs to relax I stopped my race activity on my watch and we started to game plan how to get back to Javelin Jeadquarters so I could drop out. We got up and decided to walk for just a few more minutes, one step at a time. Then it became a slow jog, pointed in the right direction, toward the next aid station. I suffered and rallied over and over again but with some good company and motivation from @rl_linden over the last rainy and slippery loop, I made it to the finish line.

100 miles done. Found some limits. Learned some new things. “Enjoyed” a new way to participate in this wild sport. I hate to say it, but that was pretty fun.
