UPCOMING EVENTS: STORIES OF US Exhibition

Twilight Hours: Stories of Us

Meet artist Michelle Angela Ortiz and curator Erica F. Battle. Spend an evening at The Galleries at Moore with the people behind Stories of Us. Join Michelle Angela Ortiz and curator Erica F. Battle for a relaxed twilight visit to the exhibition, which brings together 25 years of Ortiz’s public projects and studio work for the first time. You’ll hear how family, immigration, and community shape her collaborative practice, and you can ask your own questions as you walk through the galleries.

Join us any time between 5:30- 7:30 pm on one of the dates listed. Go to the bio link to register.

Monday, November 16th:
Las Madres de Berks Documentary Screening and Panel

Join us on Monday, November 16th in Graham Auditorium for a screening of Las Madres de Berks followed by a panel discussion featuring Artist Michelle Angela Ortiz and immigrant rights organizers @palovesimmigrants @freemigrationproject

Ortiz created the Las Madres de Berks documentary, which shares the testimonials of four mothers who were detained for two years with their children at The Berks County Residential Center, a family prison in Pennsylvania. Berks is the oldest of the three permanent family prisons for immigrant families in the country. Despite being held up as a “model” by proponents of immigrant detention, the center has amassed a record of human rights violations.

All events are free and open to the public.
