it’s been an amazing birthday so far full of so much love. i’m a very lucky girl!

35 had me falling in love with myself all over again. i also lost 157 lbs which was a huge accomplishment for me. all in all, 35 was one of my best years yet and i’m just really happy! it was so good to me and i can’t wait to see what 36 has in store.

Tropes: Enemies to lovers, forced proximity, found family/sisterhood, trauma and healing, fated mates

Summary/Why I love it: This book is a hit or miss with people. You either love it or you hate it. For me personally, i saw myself in Nesta. I related to her like i’ve never related to another character before. Having been through my own fair share of family trauma, i was mean before healing. I took things out on people and pushed them away. It wasn’t pretty. I’m thankful for those who stuck it out and stayed but understand those who needed to take a step back. Nesta’s mental health journey in this book tugged at my heart strings. It was inspiring and empowering and it made me feel seen. I sobbed so much reading it. Then you add in her found family with her two friends and her mate and wow, i just get her. I too had to find my chosen family and i’m thankful every single day for them. This book just holds a special place in my heart and it forever will.

• over the influence // ☆☆☆☆☆

this book was everything. i told myself that in honor of women’s history month, i was going to read books mainly by women i admire this month so this one has to be included. i’ve been a die hard fan of this woman since 2004, i was 14 and i haven’t jumped ship since. i’ve been lucky enough to meet her multiple times throughout her career. they say not to meet your idols because they may disappoint you but lemme tell you that jo far from disappointed me. she has always remained lovely and as real as they come.

i listened to the audio version of this book and it left me in awe. hearing jo read out her life story was awesome. she’s overcome so much in such a short amount of time and seeing her come out the other end stronger and brighter than ever makes me respect and love her even more. she is so candid in this book about her personal life and her career, it’s astonishing. i’ll listen to certain songs differently now but will love them nonetheless because they’re a part of her story. i cannot wait to see her career continue to flourish because she deserves it. not only is she an amazing vocalist but she’s also a genuinely phenomenal human being.

this book really is empowering and if you haven’t read it yet, do yourself a favor and read it asap! 10/10 recommend!

• last month, my bestie and i did the barnes & noble bestie book challenge and it was so much fun! 10/10 recommend doing this with your besties!!

also, i realized after the fact that i fucked up and i got her the third book in a series but it’s ok because i got her the first two after lmao. and pls ignore the typos in the captions lol.

• happy wednesday ♡︎

i’m back!!!! it’s been a minute since i last posted! i miss you all but i needed a little bit of a break. let’s catch up!!!

so last time i posted, i mentioned i had a gastric sleeve surgery. as of now, i’ve lost 140 pounds and i feel better than i have felt in years! i’m so proud of myself and the progress i’ve made when it comes to my health and fitness! i’m not done though and i can’t wait to continue getting fit!

life has been so good to me lately! i included some slides in this post of what’s been going on the last few months. i’m in a new relationship, my babies are doing amazing, i’ve inherited two step fur babies, my book club (@boozybookwormz) is doing great, my family is awesome and i am blessed with the best friends ever! i am one happy girly!

i did hit my reading goal last year of 60 books so this year i’ve upped it to 65. i did recently go back to college so my reading has been lacking because of my classes but i’m sure i’ll get in the groove soon and manage my school reading and reading for pleasure just fine! i’m currently reading ‘heartless hunter’ and loving it! the first picture in the post is some recent books gifted to me by friends and i’m excited to read them!

oh yeah, your girl is a college student again!!! i’m super excited to be back and i can’t wait to work my butt off cause the goal is law school!

i’m 12 days late in posting this but hey better late than never, right? lol. july was a really good month for me! since my surgery, it’s been the first month i started to go out and do more social gatherings! i’m still learning the limitations of my new stomach and it’s crazy just how little i eat at a time lol but it’s been good to go out to dinner and enjoy myself even if i’m asking for a to go box quickly! july has also been my best reading month this year! i finished a total of 11 books:

i was really proud of how much i read and it put me way ahead of my reading goal which is honestly a plus! getting to spend most of this month in velaris again with my girl nesta made me happy!

also, as of today i’m 55 pounds down since the surgery and it feels amazing! physically im moving around and doing things i haven’t done in a long time! the gym has also become my friend! i feel better than i have felt in years both physically and mentally! i’ve also been spending my time with people that are good for me and who bring something positive to my life and it’s been fulfilling. i’ve been so content with this new chapter of my life and i’m actually happy. 2025 has really been my year so far and i’m loving every second of it ✨

this is my office/library! i work from home so i was able to get my library set up in my office. it’s my favorite room in my apartment. it’s cozy and my cats also love to hang out in their cat tree by the window while i read! i love everything about this room.

also, peep joey posing for some of these pics lol the last pic is the way it normally looks with their toys out lmao. oh and the reason my couch has those wooden bars under it is because my other cat is mischievous and likes to tear the dust fabric under the couch so she can get inside the couch lol.

if you know me, you know i rep slytherin hard! the harry potter series is always going to be in my heart and the slytherin house is my home. when i got my hands on this edition, i fell in love and i have treasured it ever since! it’s definitely my most prized possession and i’m obsessed with the way they look!

my love for this genre sparked when i was in 5th grade and i read harry potter for the first time! this was circa 2001. now as an adult, i love it even more. there’s nothing better than diving head first into a magical world full of mythical creatures and even humans. i just love getting lost into those worlds. it’s a feeling i just can’t describe but it makes me happy!

i recently joined a fun post challenge group for the month of august but i did join late so i’m jumping in and starting off with day 4!

♥ 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟒 - 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫:
a court of silver flames

so i just did a graphic audio reread on this series and man i had missed it so much and it felt amazing being back in that world again. as much as i love the series as a whole, i have to give the spotlight to this masterpiece right here.

acosf made me feel so many things and it will forever be embedded in me. i ran out and got a tattoo inspired by it shortly after i finished it the first time and i have 0 regrets.

i relate to nesta archeron in so many ways. everything about this book is perfection. and the found family trope in this book? a tear jerker for sure! i just love all 751 pages so much!!! by @pageswithjassy

this was my june book for the 12 books recommended by 12 friends challenge. this book was recommended to me by someone i no longer speak with but i’m still glad i read the book!

i ate this book up! i honestly could not put it down! i read it within 24 hours lol it’s been a good while since i’ve read a mafia book that i liked!

i loved valentina so much and her drive to leave a violent situation and start a new even if it’s in hiding. she knew she deserved better and was gonna get it one way or another! i also loved damiano and his relationship with valentina! it got rocky for a second there but their relationship was everything!

the ending was soooo good and empowering! i definitely cannot wait to read the second book in this series!! if you haven’t read this book, i 10/10 recommend it!!
