We are honored to present “Art as Translation” for the Worlds Collide seminar series supported by @kavlifoundation and @muoncollider.us Wednesday, January 28th, 2:00 PM ET via Zoom 🔗 Join us as we provide a unique perspective on the intersection of art and the efforts toward a future collider at @fermilab America’s particle physics and accelerator laboratory. The Muon particle is currently leading us towards a historic frontier in physics. Its “anomalous” behavior suggests the existence of potentially vast, undiscovered realities beyond the current Standard Model and the race to develop the first Muon Collider is underway. Promising next generation technologies and unvieling uncharted layers of the universe. Our work will focus on the poetic translation of these immense ideas. We aim to bridge the gap between the stunningly complex Innerspace of particle physics and the tangible, human scale of our shared experience. Special thanks to the Organizing Committee for this invitation: Tova Holmes (Tennessee) Jessica Howard (UCSB/KITP) Kiley Kennedy (Princeton) Isobel Ojalvo (Princeton) @quantumkaraoke Tokyo Orimoto (Northeastern) 🗓 Wednesday, Jan 28th 🕐 2:00 PM ET 📍 Hosted via Zoom 🔗 link in bio @kavlifoundation @cern @muoncollider.us @fermilab #Muong2 #ParticlePhysics #ArtAndScience #cern fermilab by @patrickgallaghernyc
BEFORE MEASURE comes to NYC for a solo exhibition Feb 2 – March 2 at The New York Design Center @thegalleryat200lex
 Join us for the Opening Reception: Feb 5, 2026 | 6:00 – 8:00 PM
BEFORE MEASURE immerses the viewer in a realm existing at the very threshold of human perception.
Through large-scale works, we aim to translate the complexity of scientific phenomena within the sensory realm of human experience. The exhibition invites viewers to encounter the universe at the precise instant before it is defined.
This is an invitation to find a moment of stillness amid relentless noise and a reminder of the profound realities that exist beneath the surface of the immediate.  🥂Opening Reception: Thursday, Feb 5, 6:00–8:00 PM ( RSVP to thegallery@nydc.com )  📍Location: New York Design Center, 200 Lexington Ave, 10th Floor   🗓️ Exhibition Dates: Feb 2 – March 2, 2026 by @patrickgallaghernyc
From Paris ☔️ to Manhattan 🗽: a private visit on the 10th floor of the @nydc - New York Design Center. A few days after launching Data To Art with Yan Holtz, I was contacted by @melissaabel_ , a New York-based artist agent, to discover the work of @chrisklapper and @patrickgallaghernyc, a Brooklyn-based artist duo. ☎️ What was first planned as a video call turned into a real encounter in New York, in front of the works from their truly fascinating exhibition « Before Measure » at @thegalleryat200lex 🔥 🏢 🇺🇸🖼️ Their work comes from an incredible collaboration with @fermilab , a leading US laboratory in particle physics. They explore the quantum world, infinitesimal energies and invisible structures of matter. 🧬🔭 This is exactly what I love about Art & Science exhibitions: they open doors to complex subjects through images, space and emotion. Thank you Chris Klapper, Patrick Gallagher & Melissa Abel for your time, generosity and this unforgettable encounter 🖤🙏✨ Full article and images : wakeupdataviz.com. #ArtAndScience #ScienceArt #DataArt #ContemporaryArt #NewYorkArt by @patrickgallaghernyc
Artist Spotlight: Chris Klapper and Patrick Gallagher✨ @chrisklapper and @patrickgallaghernyc are a Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary duo whose collaborative practice explores the space where visual art, particle physics, and material experimentation meet. Working across sound, sculpture, video, and digital media, they translate complex scientific ideas and mathematical structures into immersive, sensory-driven artworks. Their practice is driven by a fascination with scale — finding ways to express vast, abstract systems through tangible forms that can be experienced on a human level. Since beginning their collaboration in 2010, Klapper and Gallagher have developed a body of work that merges ancient visual traditions with contemporary digital processes. Their projects often draw inspiration from the quantum world, transforming scientific data into physical artworks, from marble-dust mandalas inspired by subatomic collisions to algorithmic paintings generated through custom C++ software. Rendered through techniques such as dye-sublimation on aluminum, these works create reflective environments where the viewer becomes part of the image itself. Their ongoing research has been shaped by collaborations with scientists, including a residency at Fermilab, and continues in projects such as their recent exhibition Before Measure, where they explore how the invisible structures of the universe can be translated into visual and spatial experience. FINAL DAY “BEFORE MEASURE” at The New York Design Center @thegalleryat200lex We are so grateful to everyone who has stopped by to explore these quantum geometries with us. If you’ve been meaning to catch the show, today is your last chance to see these light-reactive works in person. 🗓 Friday, March 13th ⏰ 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM 📍 The New York Design Center (The Gallery at 200 Lex, 10th Floor) @chrisklapper @nydc @thegalleryat200lex by @patrickgallaghernyc
It has been an incredible run, but we are officially in the FINAL WEEK TO VIEW “Before Measure”. Working alongside @chrisklapper and @patrickgallaghernyc to bring these algorithmic paintings to life at the New York Design Center (@nydc ) has been an honor. If you haven’t had a chance to stand in front of these light-reactive works on aluminum, now is your chance NYC. You have until Friday to see the quantum world rendered in person. “Before Measure” explores the infinitesimal anomaly of the Muon particle—translating the complex geometries of the quantum world into a visual language of resonance. Using custom software built in MaxMSP and C++ framework, the artists Chris Klapper and Patrick Gallagher emulate subatomic structures to create “Algorithmic Paintings.” Rendered via dye-sublimation on aluminum, the resulting works merge the viewer and their environment directly into the imagery, creating an atmosphere of reflection. 🗓 On View Until Friday, March 13th 📍 The Gallery at 200 Lex @thegalleryat200lex , 10th Floor ⏰ Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM by @patrickgallaghernyc
The newest exhibition by @chrisklapper and @patrickgallaghernyc has debuted at The New York Design Center’s Gallery at 200 Lex! Before Measure, explores the power of infinitesimal energies, drawing inspiration from research the artists encountered during their residency at Dermi National Particle Physics Laboratory. Head to the link in bio to learn more and come see it for yourself on the 10th floor through March 13th! by @patrickgallaghernyc
Because these works are rendered through dye sublimation on aluminum, the ambers and cyans aren’t just surface level colors; they are fused into the metal. In this piece “Singularity” we are taking the Muon’s “wobble” (a dipole) and pushing it to its mathematical limit: the Magnetic Monopole. When you see the colors radiate from a central point, you’re looking at a translation of an isolated magnetic pole, a singular burst of energy that defies the standard laws of physics. As you move past the work, the shifting reflections invite a visceral engagement with the very wobble currently being interrogated at @fermilab . It’s an atmosphere of reflection that doesn’t just sit on the wall, it radiates. EXTENDED: Due to the response, Before Measure is now on view through March 13th. Experience these quantum translations in person at @nydc @thegalleryat200lex by @patrickgallaghernyc
Watching “Radiance” find its place on the wall at @thegalleryat200lex . Because these works are rendered on aluminum, they don’t just sit in the room—they merge with it. The lighting and movement of the viewer become part of the data visualization itself at @nydc 📍 The Gallery at 200 Lex, 10th Floor 🗓️ EXTENDED: until March 13, 2026 by @patrickgallaghernyc
*EXTENDED* “Before Measure” at The Gallery at 200 Lex. The exhibition will be now be on view until March 13th. Thank you to our visitors who have engaged with this body of work so far.
