This walk is entirely made possible by volunteer labor. However we have expenses we need to cover too...

Peacewalk 2026 is walking from Western Europe to Jerusalem/Al-Quds — fifteen months on foot, along the Jerusalem Way. Since 25 June the route has run through Austria, and over 300 people have already walked a stretch.

But a walk this long still costs money.

Every night people need a roof. Every day people need to eat. Public actions need permits, printing, sound equipment. Film screenings need venues. Luggage needs to get from one town to the next so that people carrying too much can keep walking.

That's what we're asking for: €5,000 for the running costs of the Austrian leg. Not for offices, not for salaries. For the concrete, unglamorous things that keep a movement on the road.

We walk in solidarity with Israeli and Palestinian peace activists who refuse to become enemies of one another. That refusal deserves more than sympathy. It deserves support you can measure.

No resignation, no looking away. Fifteen months of concrete action, step by step.

Whatever we raise beyond our target goes directly to Combatants for Peace and Standing Together.

Link in bio. Any amount helps. Sharing this post helps too.

Bordercrossing Austria - Hungary. What a day! What an amazing walk the Austrian walk has been. Many people joined and walked with us, the peacewalk have been taken good care of especially by @civilactionnetwork that organized so many events and took such good care of the walkers. And also special thanx to the @jerusalem_way that was founded in Austria. We keep on following the path. On we go!

Some impressions from the road:
Linz, Wilhering, Artstetten.
Walking into Linz and inside of Linz and out of Linz. In the blazing sun, under cool clouds but never in the rain.
Sometimes many, sometines few.
Now silent and contemplative, then outgoing and eager to connect.
Yesterday in nature, today in a city tomorrow somewhere in between.
Many things change.
What stays is one commitment and a question.
We are dedicated to standing (and walking) for peace and justice.
How to get there we don't know exactly, but we keep inquiring. by @peacewalk_at

The Peacewalk in Austria is well on its way. Thanks mainly to the amazing work of @civilactionnetwork, @jonasgroener and Jan. They are leading, with an amazing team of volunteers, the Peacewalk through Austria. Check @peacewalk_at

A special moment in the route, because Austria is also the birth country of the @jerusalem_way a founding partner of the Peacewalk..We walk mainly on the longest peacepath in the world. And making it a bit longer even, by doing so.

Another two weeks, then the Western European leg of the Peacewalk enters Hungary. To merge in Budapest with the Eastern European leg. Starting points in six (!) different countries come together then. Find the awesome live map at map.peacewalk.info (and on our website) by @peacewalk_at

ATTENTION!!
Due to the hot temperatures and for safety reasons we are changing the rhythm of the walk in Austria: From tomorrow on, we’ll generally start walking at 7am, to avoid having to walk super much in the middle of the day. Tomorrows stage is also a bit shorter, since we arrived to a different sleeping place than originally planned.
In case you were planning to join tomorrow or you know someone that was planning to join, please forward this information to them! by @peacewalk_at

We like peace, and that starts with ourselves and each other! 🤝

Last week @stiftwilhering two groups of peacewalkers joined each other for the first time: one starting in Belgium and the Netherlands & one from France and Spain. This week, we will be walking towards St. Pölten. Join us :)

More info on the map.peacewalk.info & at civilaction.net/events for events surrounding the peacewalk.
