Now on view at @coreyhelfordgallery Los Angeles until July 12th

Caravan “Languages” is perhaps the most intimate painting in this entire series, the one that represents my steps through this present world. A difficult, almost impassable path, in a desolate territory, partially abandoned by empathy, where limits have been crossed beyond what is tolerable. So, here I am, with no choice but to look inside and manifest my physical and emotional strength to bear the weight of existence, of identity, trying to transform pain into poetry, with much frustration, with much disagreement, sometimes with anger, but searching for that spark, that magic, that synchronicity, which is there, shining somewhere.

“The four horsemen”
Oil on linen
92cmx73cm plus frame 106cmx87cm
Inch: 42”x34”
Private Collection 🍓
This is one of my paintings for my show “Gods & Mezcal” at @dorothycircus Roma, April 2021
📷 @fotogasull

Gods and Mezcal
Allegory of an experience of the deep mind.
The Gods that inhabit my landscapes are spiritual beings, aware of their connection with universal energy, they are awake, sometimes they are entities of light or they play with it, float among the stars and defy the law of gravity, they can appear in a dream, deep meditation, astral travel or in a psychedelic or Shamanic experience
they are usually there to show us something. Something that is worth pointing out no matter how irrelevant it may seem.
My first motivation to paint is existentialist, it is a personal search for the meaning of life. I work with a magical intention because I believe that each artistic manifestation leaves an imprint on the universe and produces changes, by materializing our dreams we are influencing the great collective mind.
My paintings do not have a simple understanding , they can produce pleasure and in turn awaken complex sensations, that is why I try to be very precise when I work, not so much in terms of technique but in the balance of energies. taken in Dorothy Circus Gallery by @peca.art

“The paws trace the air,
the world is so heavy that
I dance upside down
There is no triumph,
My king prefers the air
rather than adorning his head.
The spider web is broken
I cover my eyes.
Remote voices approach me
they whisper, they visit me.
In front of my eyes,
tao floats in perpetual drift.
perfect, soft, solar,
Chaos is a game.
Death waits below,
And I keep on above”
It is not intended to be poetry, they are just loose phrases in relation to painting 😉
Historically, horses in art represent war, solemnity and the male ego. Here in contrast it is upside down, pink, embroidered, symbolically “feminine”, reminder that when the world gets too heavy, the answer that keeps us sane is to turn reality around, challenging gravity, turning our burdens into learning and wisdom.
The phrase of Antonin Artaud “The serious thing is that we know that behind the order of this world there are others” always has been an inspiration for my art

This is what my summer looked like: among fish, paintbrushes, loves, moons, suns, and eclipses.
Some months are built on contrasts: the deep blue of a sea cave, the hum of a fan trying to beat the heat, and a night moon weaving through the antennas.
Between brushstrokes and magical nights, this season of hellish temperatures slowly painted itself.
