Hats off to @ashleylouisejames for talking openly about incontinence.

So many people have called her brave. She is. But here’s the thing.

It takes one brave woman. Then a few more. And then, hopefully, nobody has to be brave at all.

Incontinence affects millions of women. Young and old. Whether you’ve had children or not. It is common. It is not something to whisper about.

The whole point of women working in women’s health is this: the next generation shouldn’t need to be brave to say what’s happening in their bodies. It should be normal to talk about it. Normal to know where to get help. Normal to look after yourself properly, without shame getting in the way.

We’re not there yet. But every woman who speaks up moves us closer.

Moving goalpost syndrome. Imposter syndrome. Founderitis.

For years I believed pain was the price of big ambition. If it didn’t hurt, I wasn’t trying hard enough.

That belief got me far. Then it stopped working.

Letting go was harder than I expected.
But I’ve made real progress, and I want to share how I reframed it.

I cannot promise whether you’d succeed but I can 100% guarantee you will grow.

I spent a lot of time in my 20s stuck in two states: 1️⃣ unfulfilled by my job and 2️⃣ not ready to take the plunge.

Since taking the plunge 5 years ago, I have not regretted one second of being a founder. It’s the best personal investment i made.

Entrepreneurship exposes your biggest fears and pushes you to face it head on. And that’s your growth curve.

For those who relate even remotely, please take a chance on yourself. 💪🏼

My husband asked me why I work so hard in women’s health. This is why. ⬆️

Some light facts while you pick your jaw up off the floor 🤨

💊 39% of women seeking help for perimenopause were offered antidepressants instead of HRT (Newson Health, 2025)

🩸 It takes 8 years and 10 months on average to get an endometriosis diagnosis in the UK. 78% of women were told they were making a fuss about nothing. (Endometriosis UK, 2024)

🚽 Women with bladder pain wait years for a diagnosis, often bounced between doctors and told nothing’s wrong because their test came back “clear.” (International Journal of Urological Nursing, 2025)
