Spooky debut. 👻🐟~~My original play, “Ghosts of the Hatchery”, is officially alive and we are in FULL production swing.

I’m so excited to be kicking off my art residency @georgetownsteamplant and producing this little creature through SciStories Project (@scistoriesproject ). There are SO many people who have supported me getting this thing from sketches > script > actual humans in a spooky hatchery, and I cannot wait to share all of that with you.

For now, though, give our baby page a little look: @ghostsofthehatchery 🐟👻

There are MANY updates coming. Cast announcements soon. Crew announcements soon. Probably an unreasonable amount of salmon content soon.

But for now, here are a few little peeks from the first days of bringing this thing to life. 🥹

🥹💙THAT’S A WRAP ON OUR FIRST HAUNT. 👻 Sold-out run and six performances later, @ghostsofthehatchery showed us something important: THIS SHOW HAS LEGS, BABY. 🐟

Here’s a big, fat carousel of just a few* of the many faces I love who showed up for the final week of this strange, wonderful dream. I couldn’t thank everyone enough, one post is never going to cut it. 🥹

The reception has been incredible, and has shown us all the beautiful directions Ghosts of the Hatchery has room to grow. More recaps, reflections, and behind-the-scenes moments to come.

Opening weekend recap👻💙🥹~~”Ghosts of the Hatchery” (@ghostsofthehatchery ) is real! Opening weekend was full of beautiful curious people, sold-out seats, and a whole lot of salmon.

Grateful for a very good dog and a talented, kind human @times_are_shetty on sound/music support duty who kept me going through all the chaos.

Grateful for the crew — and for all the moments we remembered to laugh in the middle of making something that required many moving parts.

And my mother, who has witnessed every theater heist since elementary school, flying out for this world premiere was icing on the cake.🥹✨

One more weekend to go—Onward & upward!👻

🪑📋Self-producing looks like 1,001 things— including Chair Olympics. Fortunately, all my years as a marine biologist prepared me to glove up and get dirty.🙌🏾🔥

For this project, I’m an Artist-in-Residence at the Georgetown Steam Plant, and Ghosts of the Hatchery has been a HUGE labor of love for the past three years.👻💙

Since it’s my original play, I’ve been in basically every nook and cranny of bringing it to life — staffing, vision execution, marketing, production, and all the tiny details that somehow make a whole show happen.

So getting to finally see it onstage is pretty surreal.

And SO exciting.

I can’t wait for you to see it.
