🧵 GLUMPERT – Sustainable fashion as safe space 🐌

In the new exhibition GLUMPERT at OK Linz, Austrian designer @peterfellner links reused everyday objects with queer symbolism and sustainable strategies. Curated by @sandrakratochwill, Fellner questions mainstream fashion norms and opens space for new forms of identity.

Whether it’s embroidered pictures, crocheted doily, scarves or umbrellas - they retain visible traces of the past and transform the ordinary into something valuable. The snail becomes a symbol of fluidity, slowness, and a safe space. Through a specifically developed zero-waste-draping-system and the sustainability strategy repurpose, fashion becomes visible, political, and poetic.

Guest at Mondrian Hong Kong: Peter Fellner

Austrian fashion designer Peter Fellner @peterfellner explores the relationship between queer identity, fashion and sustainability, using research and experimentation to challenge conventional approaches to garment making.

His experience includes working with Vivienne Westwood & Andreas Kronthaler in London and Melitta Baumeister in New York, alongside his own practice in Austria. Peter was a semi-finalist of the Redress Design Award 2025, joining the Redress Alumni Network as his practice continues to develop internationally.

For his GLUMPERT collection, Peter transforms discarded textiles into wild, sensual and considered silhouettes through a self-developed zero-waste draping system. Based on the golden ratio and inspired by the form of a snail, the system offers a new way of shaping garments while making thoughtful use of existing materials.

With a practice shaped by curiosity, individuality and experimentation, Peter brings a distinct perspective to contemporary fashion — showing how a different way of looking can open up new possibilities.

奧地利時裝設計師 Peter Fellner @peterfellner 探索時裝、可持續發展與酷兒身份之間的關係，透過研究與實驗，重新思考傳統的服裝製作方式。

Peter 曾於倫敦擔任 Vivienne Westwood 及 Andreas Kronthaler 的設計助理，並曾於紐約跟隨 Melitta Baumeister 實習，同時累積不同時裝領域的工作經驗。2025 年，他入圍 Redress Design Award 半決賽，並加入 Redress Alumni Network，持續在國際舞台發展自己的創作。

在 GLUMPERT系列中，Peter 透過自家研發的零廢棄立體裁剪系統，將廢棄紡織品轉化為大膽、感性而富有巧思的服裝輪廓。系統以黃金比例為基礎，從蝸牛的形態汲取靈感，在重新塑造服裝的同時，也探索物料可以擁有的更多可能。
