A lovely workshop for the volunteers from a community garden supported by @scottcreativeartsfoundation today. Everyone made a jar of kimchi, giadiniera pickles and confit garlic to take home. And of course there were quick pickled radishes - a method the Japanese call amazuzuke.

We were lucky to have a selection of veggies harvested from the community garden today added to some @riverford goodies from this weeks box.

I’ll be running a similar workshop at the end of November for anyone who fancies having a go.

Super open kitchen this week - literally our busiest ever! Thank you so much to everyone who came, especially to those who queued and those who waited for a table on the chairs outside.

It was great to meet some instagram friends who’d travelled from Darlington to celebrate their birthday. Lots of new faces and as always we are grateful for our faithful regulars.

Literally got two photos all day!

Pistachio and pear cake - a fabulous @nigellalawson recipe, it worked a treat and got rave reviews, I’d definitely make it again.

Just catching up posting some of the food we cooked up for the retreaters this weekend.

Always well received - the Sunday morning brunch, this time we served…..

- Slow cooked red onion and mushroom cheesy frittata
- Disco spiced roast potatoes with pickled radish,
cornichons and capers @disco
- Foccacia Panzanella with feta
- Overnight oats and homegrown fig compote
- Slow cooked confit garlic and courgette Queen butterbeans @boldbeanco
- Baked oats with peanut butter and foraged blackberries - worked so well, would definitely make it again. Recipe from Healthyish @emthenutritionist

Travelling North after another great retreat @erthretreat , this time for the inspirational Polly and Shaun, running their ‘Go Wild’ retreat for their sister company @departmentofwellbeing.

A fabulous group of women, (including lots of yoga and pilates teachers) - walking, sea swimming, yoga, paddle boarding, sound bathing, breath work and lots more - if you’re looking for an active retreat with inspiring people - this one’s for you!

I was SO lucky to be supported this weekend by the gorgeous @lilybrereton - whose crumble slice also happens to be second to none! Thank you my lovely.

We were also lucky enough to be gifted some @pure_oliiv EVOO to use over the weekend - check them out, they follow the harvest of first press olive oils, so you get the tastiest, in season olive oils.

Back at Erth in October, in the meantime back to Yorkshire for lots happening at my unit and a new chapter for @pickledradishfeasts taken in Erth Retreat by @pickledradishfeasts

Another lovely Open Kitchen, a full house of regulars, some new faces and some very welcome friends!

I think the stars of the day were the butternut squash caponata, the Maltese potatoes and the tayberry and thyme crumble slice.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks with two weddings to cater and an Open Kitchen in between so my little allotment has been somewhat neglected, I’ve hardly even watered, but I spent a lovely hour yesterday gathering the fruit that has ripened beautifully in my absence.

Strawberry jam was made, some of the gooseberries were simmered with some honey and frozen ready for adding to a gooseberry fool or meringue and the rest were frozen to be added to a gooseberry custard tart recipe that I’ve seen and want to try.

The tayberries await my attention.

The hens were super happy with the overripe strawberries that I collected for them too.

Lots of lovely faces at today’s Open Kitchen - and some friends came along too. Big doors open and the sun flooded in, but it was nice and cool inside - we’re open again in two weeks - save the date - 8th July!

Well what a week…..
Retreat catering for two groups of fabulous ladies, back to back over seven days! It’s been a journey, I’m definitely feeling it today , but it’s been brilliant, supported and encouraged by Kim and Carrine @kffitness.ilkley and @cgperformancecoaching and all the lovely ladies - thank you for your wonderful feedback, I can’t tell you how much difference it makes, especially when you’re tired.

Obviously I couldn’t have done it without Mr B @allanbrereton , and the A Team Marina and Liz - thank you ladies, and Sarah @coverdalekitchen for running the cook along workshops with me.

Working @telfitfarm has to be one of my favourite places, beautiful house, amazing views and super well equipped - which makes life so much easier when you’re catering.

Here’s to next year ladies - it’s in the diary!

Last week @erth I was lucky enough to be gifted a bottle of @querubi_olive_oil , Polly and Shaun are working with them on a fabulous retreat offering for their beautiful venue.

Part of this amazing place is an olive grove - the olive oil is delicious - adding a lovely finish to lots of my salads last weekend.

This time last week we arrived at the wonderful @erthretreat to look after @sculptpilatesbyamy group of gorgeous guests for the weekend.

Retreat catering takes a lot of planning, organising and preparation - but when you get a group as lovely as Amy’s in a place as beautiful as Erth it’s absolutely worth it. 💯
