Don’t wait until 2027 to practise the transition.

After Mr. Universe Canary Islands in Tenerife, many of you asked about this new pose.

According to the update shown in this tutorial, it is introduced during 2026 and becomes mandatory from 2027, replacing the first quarter turn in:
• IFBB Pro Men’s Physique
• IFBB Semi Pro Muscular Men’s Physique

Small variations in hand, foot and arm placement may be accepted, provided the overall structure and purpose are respected.

Watch the transition, then study the finishing position. Practise the movement and the hold together, so you arrive balanced and controlled.

Save this tutorial for your next posing session.

IFBB Pro
IFBB Semi Pro

Waist size can mislead you. Compare the complete outline.

Semi-Pro Masters Bikini 40–44

🥇 Tatjana Obuhhova — @tatiana_337771
🥈 Olena Miasoutova

In these held poses, Tatjana’s rounded shoulders and fuller hips create the more balanced outline in my view. Olena’s compact waist and long leg lines stand out, while her lower-body outline appears narrower beside Tatjana’s.

The lesson: assess shoulder–hip balance through the front, side and back. Bikini calls for firm muscle tone without excessive hardness. More definition alone doesn’t decide the result.

Hold each position long enough to present the whole shape. These are coaching observations from the footage, not an explanation issued by the judging panel.

Save this comparison for your next posing session. For individual posing coaching, DM @body.surge.

Semi-Pro Masters Bodyfitness 35+

🥇 Jennifer Holguera — @jennifer_holguera_ifbb
🥈 Vanessa Herrera
🥉 Gina Balicoi — @ceec_woman

My reading of these held poses:
• Jennifer combines rounded shoulders with fuller thighs, creating the most balanced overall outline in my view.
• Vanessa’s shoulder width, compact waist and back shape stand out; her thighs look less full relative to her upper body.
• Gina brings strong shoulders and visible back detail, while Vanessa shows a clearer shoulder-to-waist taper in these positions.

Condition counts alongside proportion and presentation. Compare the same pose and keep the legs engaged through each turn.

These observations are for posing practice, not an account of the judges’ reasoning. Respect to every athlete and the work behind their performance.

Save this for practice. For individual posing support, message @body.surge.

Posing Art has its own place on the IFBB stage. 🎭

At the IFBB Semi-Pro Mr. Universe Switzerland, held in Zurich on 4–6 September 2026, seven athletes competed in the category. Alexandre Mick of France took first place. 🥇🇫🇷

Expression, posing technique, transitions, creativity, musicality and stage presence are at the heart of this category.

Posing Art also featured at the 2026 European Championships, making Switzerland another opportunity to see this category on stage.

Semi-Pro Classic Physique Overall

🥇 José Alberto Torres Serrano @alberto.lamaquina
🥈 Carlo Junior Campana @carlojr.campana_ifbbpro

Two class winners, each with strengths. Congratulations to both 👏

In these poses, José’s thigh separation and balanced proportions give him the edge in my view. Carlo’s chest, arms and back width stand out. The lesson is to compare the whole physique across matching front, side and back poses—not one impressive feature.

Keep the waist controlled and the legs engaged through every turn.

🥉 Meritxell Llargués Ollé

Congratulations to all three 👏 Just one point separated first and second on the published scorecard.

In these poses, Jessica’s rounded hips and compact waist give her the most balanced outline in my view. Milena’s waist and shoulders stand out, while Meritxell brings long leg lines with less pronounced waist-to-hip contrast.

The lesson: compare the same held positions. Look for balance and firm muscle tone, without excessive hardness. Practise holding each pose before moving on.

The lesson: keep the legs engaged while setting the upper body. Compare development, condition and proportion across matching poses—not just the arms.
