Final day of the holiday and a boat trip from Camogli to San Fruttuoso and then Portofino. An amazing way to end what has been a great few days in Liguria. by @pr_barnes

The final push walking the Ligurian hills from Uscio to the sea at Camogli. Only one big climb today up to the summit of Mt Orsena and a little sanctuary of Our Lady of Caravaggio. Lovely ridge walking before a final sharp descent to the coast. Miles walked: 8.7. Slippery wildlife avoided: 1 🐍 Gelato consumed: one of the finest ever in Camogli (looking forward to a return tomorrow to try new flavours!) by @pr_barnes

Day five on the great Ligurian hills adventure and after a fabulous stay in Due Ponte today the walk has taken us to Uscio. A long day (tired legs) but wonderful views and a great route, and a glimpse of the sea where the walk ends tomorrow. Miles: 14. Shrines of Our Lady: 1, N. S. del Bosco (Our Lady of the Woods) Gelato: 0, a mass produced thing on a stick doesn’t count). by @pr_barnes

Day Four of walking across the Apennines to the sea has been quite a tough one. Capanne di Corolla to Due Ponte and a mixture of glorious ridge walking (a bit up and down), some forest paths, and the odd scramble as we begin to lose height. Another challenge today has been being accompanied by biblical swarms of annoying flies! Miles: 14. Gelato: 0. But the beer at the hotel is making up for it! by @pr_barnes

Day Three of this little Liguria adventure has involved constant climbing, amazing views, tired legs, and lush forest paths. Miles: 13. Metres ascended: 1475 (I kid you not). Steps: 32,749 (all uphill). Gelato consumed: 0, through lack of opportunity. Litres of water drunk: 17,000. Pints of sun cream and insect repellent applied: 11. by @pr_barnes

Day two of walking and the legs are getting used to lots of climbing for glorious views starting today at Fortunago and end at Varzi in the Ligurian Hills. Miles covered: 13. Metres climbed: 850. Gelato: 0 (so far, though I accidentally seem to be booked into a B&b over a gelatoria! Number of insect bites (despite carefully applied powerful repellent: 6. taken in Varzi Centro Storico by @pr_barnes

First day of walking from Montalto Parvese towards Locanda del Molino. Rolling hilltop path after an initial steep climb. Miles covered: 8.5. Metres ascended: 520. Life threatening storms avoided: 2.
