This is just a portion of who I was before I encountered Christ. You may see a guy that maybe had a little “too much fun”. But I see a guy who was empty and broken, searching for fulfillment from a world that did nothing but break me down. At first I just tried to stop doing a lot of things, so that I could look like I was following Jesus. I found out quickly that doesn’t work. Though Jesus may transform your ways, He yearns to touch your heart first! Everything you do comes from your heart (Matthew 12:35). I had to stop trying to clean the outside of my cup, while the inside was filthy. Though it appears clean that cup cannot be used (Luke 11:37-41)! It wasn’t until I finally looked inside of the cup and asked Jesus for help, that transformation actually started to happen.

I used to think that being made new meant I had to act like the past never happened and throw away all of who I used to be. This had me walking around trying to “look perfect” instead of allowing real transformation to happen. After surrender and over time Jesus showed me that my personality wasn’t the problem, my sin was! And He showed me that my sin was no longer my identity, it’s my testimony! He taught me to let go of other people’s opinions about me and to learn what God says about me! If you’re going through this identity shift or think your sin is too much to turn from…I’m here to tell you that Jesus is bigger than it ALL! Trust Him and He will take care of you!🙏🏾 by @praisegodgetfly
