Aujourd'hui, basée en Afrique du Sud, directrice marketing monde de Groupe Trace, elle a piloté TRACE Academia, une plateforme qui utilise les codes du numérique et du divertissement pour favoriser l'accès à la formation, à l'emploi et à l'entrepreneuriat pour des milliers de jeunes afro-caribéens et africains. Last Friday, September 18, ADWIN brought its community together in Paris for a special evening of conversation, discovery, and reflection. ✨

The evening opened with ADWIN co-founders @elisabethmoreno.1 , @ga_mb , and @pressd sharing more about our vision and the work we are building to create spaces where African and African-descendant women can connect, be represented, and grow together.

Then came a very special part of the evening: the screening of Declarations: Black Americans and the Revolutionary War, directed by Stacey L. Holman.

The documentary brings to light the often-overlooked stories of Black Americans who fought both for and against a revolution proclaimed in the name of liberty, even as slavery endured.

George-Axelle introduced Stacey and set the stage for the screening, highlighting the documentary’s particular resonance as the United States commemorates 250 years since its independence. She then facilitated an engaging conversation with Stacey and the ADWIN community, exploring the stories brought to light by the film and the importance of preserving and passing them on as part of our collective memory.

A meaningful evening that truly embodied the spirit of WinHeritage: learning, remembering, sharing, and passing our history forward.

A special thank you to Stacey L. Holman for sharing her work, research, and perspective with us; to our three co-founders for being together for this special occasion; and to everyone who joined us, asked questions, exchanged ideas, and connected throughout the evening. 💜

I thought I knew Champagne. It turns out I’d only tasted a little of its story. 🥂🫶🏽

This weekend felt like rediscovering a part of my French heritage. At @champagnelaurentperrier , we learned about Mathilde-Émilie Perrier, who took the reins of the House and gave it part of its name. Her story led me to think about other women who shaped Champagne: Madame @veuveclicquot , Rose-Adélaïde Jouët of @perrierjouet , and Madame @champagnepommery. Their names are part of the tradition we still enjoy today.

Then came @assiettechampenoise and @domainelescrayeres, where the food, the setting and the care behind every detail made French gastronomy feel like a tradition passed from one generation to the next.

And yes, I also learned the local meaning of «marée basse»: that worrying moment when your glass is running low. We handled it with the seriousness it deserved. 😅🥂

Our country is beautiful, but the best part of coming back is always the people. 🤍🇫🇷

Parents, brothers, sisters, niece, nephew, godmothers, friends… all together again, picking up conversations as if we’d never left, and trying to fit months of stories into one family lunch. 😂❤️ We live so far away, yet within minutes, the distance disappears.

Coming back to our roots reminds us where we come from, who helped make us who we are, and why we’re heading where we’re going. Home will always be a little bit of everyone here. 🇫🇷✨🥺 taken in France by @pressd

Africa in #Dubai this week @aimcongress #AfricaGCCCouncil and the energy was undeniable. 🌍🇦🇪✨

So much talent in one room. So much momentum. So many conversations that reminded me why I do this work at @traceplusglobal @traceafrique @tracewestafrica @tracetoca

I watched Africa come together, not waiting for a seat at the table, but building its own. And I left with even more optimism than I arrived with.

Because optimism isn’t naive. It’s strategy. It’s the belief that things can be better, and that belief is what moves the human race forward. Talent is universal. Opportunity is not. This week, I saw people closing that gap in real time. @terenasgoncalo @oloriatuwatseiii @oluofwarri @thediamond.lab @nvidia @slickcityceo @weelevateafrica @exaucelukokii & many more.

A moment we will be incredibly proud of.

After more than 20 years in the luxury jewellery and diamond industry, Jamie finally felt she had been given a platform to use her voice not only on behalf of herself, but on behalf of her team, others within the industry, and a new generation of businesses challenging how things have always been done.

At AIM Congress in Dubai, Jamie had the privilege of speaking about Africa’s Industrial Rebirth and sharing the vision behind Project Origin what we intend to become the world’s first female-founded diamond growth laboratory in Vipingo, Kenya. A project bringing together innovation, renewable energy, advanced technology, skills and manufacturing, while creating greater opportunity and retaining more value on the African continent.

We are incredibly grateful to AIM Congress and the Africa GCC team for trusting Jamie with that platform. Standing on that stage was about far more than one speech it was an opportunity to start conversations, challenge perceptions and share what we believe the future of the diamond industry can look like.

Alongside Her Royal Majesty @oloriatuwatseiii, @gospelobele , and Zineb Tamtaoui, we talked about what it really takes to move Africa forward: 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹, 𝗱𝗲-𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹, 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲.
