POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Last Friday, September 18, ADWIN brought its community together in Paris for a special evening of conversation, discovery, and reflection. ✨

The evening opened with ADWIN co-founders @elisabethmoreno.1 , @ga_mb , and @pressd sharing more about our vision and the work we are building to create spaces where African and African-descendant women can connect, be represented, and grow together.

Then came a very special part of the evening: the screening of Declarations: Black Americans and the Revolutionary War, directed by Stacey L. Holman.

The documentary brings to light the often-overlooked stories of Black Americans who fought both for and against a revolution proclaimed in the name of liberty, even as slavery endured.

George-Axelle introduced Stacey and set the stage for the screening, highlighting the documentary’s particular resonance as the United States commemorates 250 years since its independence. She then facilitated an engaging conversation with Stacey and the ADWIN community, exploring the stories brought to light by the film and the importance of preserving and passing them on as part of our collective memory.

A meaningful evening that truly embodied the spirit of WinHeritage: learning, remembering, sharing, and passing our history forward.

A special thank you to Stacey L. Holman for sharing her work, research, and perspective with us; to our three co-founders for being together for this special occasion; and to everyone who joined us, asked questions, exchanged ideas, and connected throughout the evening. 💜

Too many conversations about Africa’s future happen without the people who will inherit the outcome.

3 days at @aimcongress with the Africa-GCC Council, bringing together voices from Lusophone, Francophone, Arabophone and Anglophone Africa.

Africa’s youth will live longest with the decisions made in rooms like these. Through @big.sister.africa , I bring youth perspectives and priorities into those conversations.

🗓 Friday evening, I had the privilege of attending a private event hosted by @adwin.global , the African and African-Descendant Women Impact Network.

I'm grateful for the invitation and for giving me the opportunity to be part of this meaningful evening. 🙏🏿

🎬 We had the opportunity to watch "Declarations: Black Americans and the Revolutionary War, directed by Stacey L. Holman , a powerful documentary highlighting the journeys of Black people who were enslaved, fought for freedom, and whose stories deserve to be known.

🎯 This screening was part of ADWIN’s WinHeritage pillar, dedicated to strengthening the knowledge, transmission and preservation of Black people, African and African-Descendant history.

💡One of the key messages of the evening was that knowing our history is not about staying in the past but about understanding where we come from, so we can stand stronger, connect and build together.

This message also reinforced my commitment to education, transmission, representation and women’s leadership.

For me, supporting African and African-Descendant women means acknowledging specific realities, creating spaces of solidarity, and making sure our voices are heard where decisions are made.

As an African woman, a mother, a civil society actor and the founder of I Will Arise, I believe education, youth leadership and women’s presence in strategic decision-making spaces are essential to move the lines.

Friday evening we were also encouraged to introduce ourselves with pride, own our stories and show up as we are.
ADWIN created a safe and empowering space where we could speak, connect and express ourselves without complexes.

In that spirit, although most of the people in the room were French-speaking, I chose to step out of my comfort zone and introduce myself in English. As someone who is strengthening her international voice, it was a meaningful moment, not about perfection but about presence, confidence and taking my place in the room.

I was inspired by the diversity of ADWIN’s co-founders and by their shared ambition to create a platform rooted in solidarity, education, heritage and representation.

Thank you ADWIN for your initiative 🙏🏿

Africa in #Dubai this week @aimcongress #AfricaGCCCouncil and the energy was undeniable. 🌍🇦🇪✨

So much talent in one room. So much momentum. So many conversations that reminded me why I do this work at @traceplusglobal @traceafrique @tracewestafrica @tracetoca

I watched Africa come together, not waiting for a seat at the table, but building its own. And I left with even more optimism than I arrived with.

Because optimism isn’t naive. It’s strategy. It’s the belief that things can be better, and that belief is what moves the human race forward. Talent is universal. Opportunity is not. This week, I saw people closing that gap in real time. @terenasgoncalo @oloriatuwatseiii @oluofwarri @thediamond.lab @nvidia @slickcityceo @weelevateafrica @exaucelukokii & many more.

Grateful for every conversation, every connection, every reminder of what’s possible when we tell our own story.

From impact to influence. 🧡

A moment we will be incredibly proud of.

After more than 20 years in the luxury jewellery and diamond industry, Jamie finally felt she had been given a platform to use her voice not only on behalf of herself, but on behalf of her team, others within the industry, and a new generation of businesses challenging how things have always been done.

At AIM Congress in Dubai, Jamie had the privilege of speaking about Africa’s Industrial Rebirth and sharing the vision behind Project Origin what we intend to become the world’s first female-founded diamond growth laboratory in Vipingo, Kenya. A project bringing together innovation, renewable energy, advanced technology, skills and manufacturing, while creating greater opportunity and retaining more value on the African continent.

We are incredibly grateful to AIM Congress and the Africa GCC team for trusting Jamie with that platform. Standing on that stage was about far more than one speech it was an opportunity to start conversations, challenge perceptions and share what we believe the future of the diamond industry can look like.

And for Jamie, this is only the beginning. 🇰🇪💎🌍

𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹. 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀. 👑🌍

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 🇳🇬 at the Africa Pavilion @aimcongress #AfricaGCCCouncil, and one that left a different kind of mark. 🇦🇪

Alongside Her Royal Majesty @oloriatuwatseiii, @gospelobele , and Zineb Tamtaoui, we talked about what it really takes to move Africa forward: 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹, 𝗱𝗲-𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹, 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲.

That’s the shift: 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. ✨

« The African crown is not a costume reserved for ceremonial pageantry. » Powerful words from @oloriatuwatseiii. The crown, like media, like capital is either sitting decoratively, or structurally. Her Royal Majesty made clear which one she intends hers to be.

Thank you to the Africa GCC Council, @aimcongress and everyone who made this session possible. 🙏🏽

AIM Congress 2026 in Dubai — a perspective from the Africa Pavilion and Africa-GCC Council.

In this video, Mwinda Consulting captures three days at AIM Congress 2026, exploring the intersection of Africa, the Gulf, investment, economic diplomacy, cultural diplomacy, entrepreneurship and strategic partnerships.

The Africa Pavilion at AIM Congress brought together African and GCC leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, institutions, policymakers and creatives around a common objective: creating value and building long-term partnerships between Africa and the Gulf.

For Mwinda Consulting, this experience represents more than an event. It is part of our ongoing exploration of how strategy, culture, economic opportunity and international partnerships can contribute to Africa’s development and global positioning.

We were proud to see ADWIN Co-Founder Prescillia Avenel @pressd take part in Stage Africa at @aimcongress 2026 in Dubai. 🇦🇪

Prescillia opened “The Narrative Frontier: Media, Data Sovereignty & Re-shaping the African Story” as keynote speaker before joining the panel discussion.

She also participated in The Royal Session: “Unlocking Strategic Partnerships through Monarchy for Africa”, alongside H.R.M. @oloriatuwatseiii and had the opportunity to briefly introduce ADWIN and the work we are building around access, networks and opportunities for African and Afro-descendant women.

Another highlight was The She-Economy, where H.R.M. Olori Atuwatse III shared three clear calls to action for investing in women:

→ Build the right capital structures so women can access and deploy investment.
→ Back women with patient capital, giving their businesses the time and space to scale.
→ Measure progress, because what we don’t measure, we cannot improve or hold ourselves accountable for.

From narrative ownership to investment and strategic partnerships, these conversations all point to the same need: creating real access to opportunity.

A meaningful moment for ADWIN — and for the conversations shaping Africa’s future.
