Thee Kuttichathan Theyyam - Fury, Faith, Fire.

Thee Kuttichathan (or Sasthappan) is a popular, mischievous yet divine deity worshipped in North Kerala, primarily through a dramatic and intense Theyyam ritual. Born of Lord Shiva and Parvati while living as mortals, this spirit is known for "Thee-uzhichi!" (fire-dancing), where the performer rolls on fire to ward off evil and protect devotees.

‘Kandanar Kelan Theyyam’ The God!
@sonyalphain A7M3 + Sony 50mm 1.8

‘Kandanar Kelan Theyyam’ is a tribal god worshipped in the northern parts of Kerala, India. The ritualistic performance happens once every year at a small temple and people from nearby villages come to seek blessings from their god. ‘Kandanar Kelan’ includes a fire dance, mime, drum beats and also a ritualistic jumping through fire. the idea is to preserve the essentials of ancient tribal cultures which are attached with significance to the worship of heroes and the spirits of ancestors.
