You can tell Jesse teaches from lived experience.

In this Align with Strength class, he’s breaking down a lateral lunge / Skandasana-inspired pattern.

The slow, clear instruction and emphasis on alignment is what makes these classes effective.

The intention is to establish postural control through strength. When they work together, it’s a powerful combination.

The sequence of each step matters.

What’s happening at the foot, knee, pelvis, ribs and spine all influences the quality of the movement.

At Lionheart, this is the standard we operate at.

Our moto is; Movement taught with precision, demonstrated through practice and guided with clarity.

Because a good coach, leader or therapist does not just tell you what to do they show you how to embody it.

Align & shine!

The art of doing less and accomplishing more.

This is a concept I’ve been working with for several months now. Taking aspects of different modalities and integrating them into a cohesive style of work.

The end result is a far more precise and effective approach to restoring the bodies ability to move beyond restriction and improve performance output.

As an integrative physiotherapist I find more and more that less work done with better quality produces greater benefit for the client.

These postures I’m demonstrating here represent part of the foundational single leg stability required for optimal walking, running and upright sports.

The use of @ironedge_au bands provides an afférent stimulus for the neuromuscular system to organise itself around. It’s helpful in some cases but not all.

Adding light loads with the dumbbell can have an anchoring effect to the ground helping the felt sense of pushing through the ground to be more tangible.

If you’re looking for a more intelligent approach to your movement preparation, rehab or performance optimisation then it would be in your best interest to take this onboard.

OUR STANDARD 👇

Begin with the end in mind.

This is the intention we start with for anyone who walks in the door looking for help.

The focus isn’t on just building a stronger body, but a better organised body.

What you see here is a community of people showing up to move with more awareness.

The basics matter.

Form matters.

Alignment matters.

Balance matters.

How you organise yourself under load matters.

When DNS principles meet resistance training, you start to feel the difference between raw strength and intrinsic stability.

Strength is producing force.

Stability is controlling it.

And if you want to move well for the rest of your life, you need both.

This work is simple.

But it is not shallow.

It asks you to slow down, pay attention, clean up the pattern and build from a foundation that holds up.

That’s our standard.

Align & shine 🦁🧡

Understanding the mechanics of human locomotion isn’t something most people think about often.

But it dictates a huge part of how we move through life, and how we perform athletically.

The Running Clinic with @realjessedavid is designed for all levels and abilities.

We work on the essentials of running through simple drills, postures and exercises that help improve coordination, rhythm, fluidity and movement efficiency.

Foot strike 🦶
Posture 📐
Breath 🫁
Arm swing 🏃‍♂️
Timing ⏱️

All the moving parts need to work together in a beautiful, harmonious orchestra.

The purpose is simple to build a stronger foundation of movement patterns so running feels more natural, efficient and resilient.

Saturdays 8am.

Align & shine.

Some of my favourite things captured in these moments.

Indulging in Ayurvedic food at @_nevedya_ with @mollyrose.flows.

Spending time practicing becoming closer with deeper states of consciousness.

Educating myself on how the human body works as an integrated living organism.

Educating others on how to align, stabilise and strengthen their body.

Breathing in the fresh morning eucalyptus infused air in Melbourne’s spring.

Remembering not to take myself too seriously!

I’ll leave you with this:

“When your values and beliefs align with your actions, life becomes real magical.”

Spring strength is here!

Posture, alignment and strength classes are in full swing.

As we move into the warmer months and a more Yang-dominant season, it feels natural to train the body with a little more heat, strength and intention than we often do through the slower winter days.

These classes are for those wanting to build strength with awareness and learn how to organise the body correctly.

We work with posture, alignment, breath, joint centration, tissue capacity and neuromuscular control so the body can move with stability.

Life is a dance between working out and recovering from that exertion.

Those who have the willpower to train, and the won’t power to not fall into ego-driven traps of overtraining or pushing past their functional threshold, will usually find themselves much happier and healthier in the long run.

Stay the course.

Listen to your body above all else.

The tissues don’t lie.

Introductory pricing offers are available for first-timers. Check the pricing section on the LIT website.

Align & shine 🦁🧡

Strength testing is always fun and very revealing.

This was a good check in to see what my training has actually been doing for me over the last six months.

I haven’t been smashing myself in the gym.

Most of my focus has been on structural integration, posture, flexibility and restoring better balance through:

Yoga
DNS
Running
A lot of walking.
Monthly remedial massage
Energy healing
Visceral and organ-based manual therapy work

To be honest, the combination has been incredible.

It’s reminded me that maintaining strength isn’t always about doing more, lifting heavier every week or constantly chasing intensity.

Sometimes less really is more.

I worked up to a 156kg hex bar deadlift for 5 reps at around 70kg bodyweight, which I was really happy with.

The ring rows afterwards felt like a perfect complement. This is the kind of training I’m interested in more and more.

The Lionheart movement culture is built around awareness, alignment and ownership.

Awareness is where intelligent training begins.

Alignment is the constant refinement of movement accuracy.

Ownership is being honest with yourself.

What does your body actually need to FEEL better, MOVE better and PERFORM better?

Not what your ego thinks it wants.

That’s what we practice in Align with Strength classes.

Purposeful natural movement patterns that puts alignment before strength.

It’s not for everyone but if you’re willing to slow down and listen to your body, it is incredibly worthwhile.

What is muscle coordination?

Let me tell you.

In order to create stable, organised movement, the body needs to coordinate an orchestra 🎼 of contractions.

This is an incredibly complex task performed by the neuromuscular network.

The slightest change in the body’s internal environment can make a huge difference in how well a movement pattern is performed.

Position, posture and alignment matter, but there are other contributing factors that can interfere with the harmonious coactivation of myofascial movement.

The truth is, some people can’t fix their posture or restore alignment until they tend to a nervous system that is fried, or clean up a messy digestive system.

One of the first things I look at when someone comes to me is the coherence of the moving parts.

Then we get to work trying to restore as much semblance of balance as possible.

What’s your experience with retraining your body’s movement patterns?

I’m curious to hear from a lived experience what the root cause was, and when you felt a big positive shift.

I’ve noticed this common theme in my work.

Those who are destination obsessed 🎯 tend to develop more unconscious tendencies in their bodies movement patterns. Leading to the inevitable feeling of pain and discomfort 😩

The first step when working with these individuals is to remove the focus on quantitative output and turn the light of awareness inwards towards the quality of their movement patterns 💡

This simple shift in perspective alone produces tremendous results in short periods of time. ⚡️It can be challenging for some to relinquish their fixation on their measurable wearable goals in order to pursue a more thoughtful meaningful relationship with their body. ☯️

It’s one of the most rewarding things to witness in my work when someone starts to not only feel better internally but radiate vitality outwardly when they take the unecssasry pressure off themselves and start working on creating balance ⚖️ within themselves.

If you’ve found this message useful please share it with someone who needs to hear this.

In heath & vitality,

Jesse

Your tissues don’t lie…they carry the story your body has been recording since the moment you entered his life.

The role of the manual therapist is one of the highest responsibility. As a body mechanic he explores the texture, tone and state of the area before deciding whether to intervene.

When it comes to the internal organs these structures are extremely important and receptive to physical, emotional and environmental stress.

Learning the art and science of visceral manipulation has been profound for me to experience personally but also witness the changes in the clinic.

Remember, it’s rarely the site of pain (the victim) that is the true cause. The culprit tends to remain hidden until a skilled detective finds them 🔍
