THE POWER OF BREATH

Most people with pain, niggles or injuries don't access the power of breath.

Through specific breathing techniques, you can:

Regulate your nervous system

Reduce pain

Improve posture

Increase stability & strength

Assist digestion

And more...

We breath on averager 29,000 times a day.

That's a a lot of reps!

We place a huge emphasis on breathing training in our group classes.

And dive deep into the physiological and psychological benefits of breathing in The Physical Freedom Method™ program.

A wise man once said: "Until breathing is corrected no movement pattern can be improved."

The power of your breath awaits you.

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is an approach crafted for health-conscious individuals grappling with persistent pain, those weary of quick fixes, and individuals eager to delve into the root cause of their physical issues.

An integrative approach caters to those seeking a deeper understanding of themselves.
It treats the whole person—addressing the physical, emotional, and energetic bodies, along with environmental factors.

These elements harmonize for overall balance, and any imbalance can impact others, similar to a spider’s web losing its natural form.

Amid our hectic lives, finding time for self-connection becomes challenging.

Integrative therapists facilitate this connection on physical, emotional, and energetic levels. Once reconnected to their whole self, individuals often recognize areas of imbalance.

They analyze contributing factors to pain and aim to create harmony by addressing issues at their core.

This might involve specialized therapies from both Eastern and Western traditions, including Physiotherapy, Massage Therapy, Movement Therapy, Breathing Therapy, Meditation, Sound Therapy, Qi Gong, Tai Chi, and Reiki.

If an integrative approach resonates with you, we invite you to explore our one-on-one therapy, group classes, and immersive programs.

Be brave, be love, be your LIONHEART

Why we teach Dynamic Neuromuscular Stability (DNS)

Simply put, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation (DNS) is an approach to human movement that focuses on optimal body stability. DNS therapy involves training the movement control centers in the brain to create balanced co-activation of muscles and optimal position of joints.Resulting in strong, efficient and sustainble movement patterns.

Most pain and injuries are caused by tissue overload due to poor stabilization in the body. Embodied DNS training helps co-activate the correct muscles resulting in optimal movement patterns, preventing tissue overload.

Originating from Prague Rehabilitation School, the DNS concepts are focused on improving the quality of any movement.

Most beginner DNS exercises start in lying, crawling or rolling positions. They can include the use of equipment like resistance bands, platforms and balls.

DNS can be applied to any and all forms of exercise.

We incorporate DNS therapy into our physiotherapy, yoga therapy and group classes. You’ll appreciate our strong emphasis on symmetry, alignment and posture when you work with us.These characteristics are often neglected in other forms of therapy and classes yet are essential to our key bodily functions and movement.

DNS is beneficial for all levels of ability from children to adults. If you are currently seeing a therapist or exercising incorporating some DNS training is a great addition to increase your body awareness, stability, mobility and postural control.

If you’d like to learn more about DNS we’d love to hear from you.I look forward to seeing you on the mat soon!

Our energy system and our chakras are much like a flowing river when they are open, vibrant and receptive.

Chakra in Sanskrit means wheel. A chakra is a spinning wheel of energy which runs alongside a complex nerve network within our energy field. We have 7 major chakras & each one represents an important part of the body’s & mind’s energy, as well as a different stage of spiritual development.

We talk about the 7 chakras from the base of the spine up to the crown.

Root chakra - Earth element
Survival - is blocked by fear

Sacral chakra - Water element
Pleasure - is blocked by guilt

Solar Plexus chakra - Fire element
Personal power = is blocked by shame

Heart chakra - Air element
Love - is blocked by grief

Throat chakra - Ether element
Truth - is blocked by lies we tell ourselves

Third Eye chakra - Ether element
Intuition - is blocked by illusion

Crown chakra - Ether element
Pure cosmic energy - is blocked by earthly attachments

We feel our best when our energy is flowing just like a river.

Our energy system needs fine tuning often to remain balanced. Remember that nature is a beautiful way to help your energy balance.
