A before-and-after should demonstrate REAL change and genuine transformations.

Patients deserve transparency.

As a surgeon, overpromising and under-delivering on results is a set-up for disaster. Your results should speak for themselves. You shouldn’t have to manufacture a misleading “before” to sell a better “after.”

Good lip filler isn’t always a one-syringe story. 💋

One of the biggest misconceptions about lip filler is that we need to create the entire result in a single appointment.

For many patients, my favorite approach is to build gradually.

This patient started with naturally beautiful lips and wanted more volume and definition while still looking like herself. After her first syringe, we created a gorgeous foundation. At a later treatment, we added another ½ syringe to refine the shape and build a little more volume.

Why take it slow? Because staged treatments allow us to:

• Respect your natural anatomy
• Build shape and structure intentionally
• Keep proportions balanced with the rest of your face
• Create volume without chasing an overfilled look
• Reassess once everything has healed and settled

And this is an important reminder: the number of syringes doesn’t tell you whether a result will look “natural.” Placement, technique, anatomy, product choice, and the timeline over which filler is added all matter.

I resigned with no practice waiting for me, no perfect plan, and absolutely no guarantee that it was going to work.

Terrifying? In every sense of the word.

But staying somewhere where I felt like I had to make myself smaller was scarier.

So I bet on me.

I built my own practice, surrounded myself with women who believed in each-other, and created the kind of culture I had been missing my whole life.

Two years later, we didn’t just find our place in the Virginia plastic surgery scene, we made one.

It’s funny how the decision that feels like it might break you can end up being the one that builds you.🙏🏽

NO ONE SEND THIS TO MY MOM.

In retrospect, I respect the commitment to the cover story.🫩

But it also made me think about how we talk to our own kids about plastic surgery.

I don’t think we need to teach our kids that our bodies are something to be ashamed of or constantly “fixed.”

But I also don’t think we need to pretend that pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight changes and aging don’t change our bodies.

You can love your body, appreciate everything it has done for you, AND decide there are things you’d like to change.

It can be as simple as “My body changed a lot after having ALL OF YOU PEOPLE, and I’m choosing to do something for myself that makes me feel more comfortable in it”.

Honesty > a fake mystery emergency surgery 😂💀

115 pounds lost. A completely new chapter.

From 280 lbs to 165 lbs: a transformation that required an incredible amount of commitment long before surgery became part of the story.

After she reached her goal weight I performed:

Happy birthday to our Megan/meggie/megaliciousness/youregivingusaMegraine 🤍

Five years of girls’ trips, adventures, questionable decisions, unforgettable memories, and somehow managing to do life and work alongside each other without completely losing the plot.

Megan is an incredible injector and colleague, a supremely dedicated mom, and often the calm eye of the storm of chaos we create around her 😂🤍

There is something so special about getting to work every day with someone you genuinely love, admire, and trust. I feel incredibly lucky that our careers brought us together, but even luckier that somewhere along the way, a colleague became one of my closest friends.

I’m so grateful for every laugh, every memory, every true crime case, every meeting with lawyers, every group chat, and every moment of the last five years.
