A before-and-after should demonstrate REAL change and genuine transformations.

Patients deserve transparency.

As a surgeon, overpromising and under-delivering on results is a set-up for disaster. Your results should speak for themselves. You shouldn’t have to manufacture a misleading “before” to sell a better “after.”

Good lip filler isn’t always a one-syringe story. 💋

One of the biggest misconceptions about lip filler is that we need to create the entire result in a single appointment.

For many patients, my favorite approach is to build gradually.

This patient started with naturally beautiful lips and wanted more volume and definition while still looking like herself. After her first syringe, we created a gorgeous foundation. At a later treatment, we added another ½ syringe to refine the shape and build a little more volume.

Why take it slow? Because staged treatments allow us to:

• Respect your natural anatomy
• Build shape and structure intentionally
• Keep proportions balanced with the rest of your face
• Create volume without chasing an overfilled look
• Reassess once everything has healed and settled

And this is an important reminder: the number of syringes doesn’t tell you whether a result will look “natural.” Placement, technique, anatomy, product choice, and the timeline over which filler is added all matter.

Sometimes the prettiest results aren’t created in one appointment—they’re built thoughtfully over time. 🤍

FR some of y’all are out here melting and too unbothered about it🫪

One of the biggest unspoken truths in plastic surgery: female plastic surgeons aren’t just judged on our results, training, or skill.

People are also constantly evaluating our faces, bodies, clothes, hair, skin, and how well we appear to be aging when considering us as surgeons.

WHICH to be fair I understand to some degree.

I would be a little nervous if my dentist’s teeth were all cracked out etc. 😵‍💫

What does blow my mind is that male plastic surgeons seem to largely get... a pass on feeling the pressure to keep up with their appearances.

I have a suspicion this is not the only career field where this happens, let me know in the comments section.

(PS: to all my male plastic surgeon besties, this post is not about you. 🫶🏽😝)

Cheers to every surgeon out there trying to simultaneously age naturally, but not too naturally, be fit, but not too thin, have work done, but not look like we’ve had work done, and somehow operate a full surgical practice while maintaining the appearance of a 32-year-old Pilates instructor.🫠

Every morning, I ask God to guide my hands, that they may do no harm, and to bless my patients with a safe recovery.

Standing at the precipice of some of the biggest leaps I’ve ever taken in my practice, I keep coming back to this: this job is an incredible privilege.

I’m grateful for every day that I am healthy enough to operate, for every patient, and for the opportunity to do work I once only dreamed of doing.

And lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how far this little practice has come and how much bigger the dreams have become along the way. Big things on the agenda for 2027 @reddyplasticsurgery 🧿
