Leading agency reaching military, multicultural, teen, and college audiences. Refuel Your Campaign.
POSTS STORIES REELS
A lookalike audience is only as specific as the file you seed it with. Say a national retailer wants to reach active-duty military households. It seeds a platform lookalike with its general customer file, which is mostly suburban civilian buyers. The platform does exactly what it was told to do. Delivery looks fine. CPA looks fine. The campaign still ends up reaching people who live near installations, with little connection to the installation community itself. Before you trust the "like," check what it's being calculated against. Refuel reaches 42 million military consumers across 280+ bases and installations. We pair that access with AI applied to your first-party data through our partnership with @Wrench.ai. Military families move every 2 to 3 years. Every move means a new ZIP code, new schools, new doctors, and a new set of brands to trust. This Military Family Month, we're honoring the 2.6 million families who rebuild home again and again. What that life looks like by the numbers: 🏠 600,000+ military-connected families relocate every year 💼 20% of active-duty spouses in the labor force are unemployed, even as participation climbs to 69% 💰 Active-duty spouses hold $37.5B in spending power Families who reset their routines every few years notice which brands show up early and stay consistent. They remember who made the move easier. For 35+ years, Refuel has helped brands reach military families with respect, precision, and the data to back it up. To every military family: thank you. We see the sacrifice, and we're proud to support you. by @refuelagency
College students control $347 billion in discretionary spending annually. Not future potential. Current purchasing power. They spend 11.6 hours a day on campus, 84% pay for their own clothing, and 75% buy their own food. This is a captive, spending, decision-making audience hiding in plain sight. We pulled 40 quotes students actually connect with, mapped to the themes our College Explorer™ research verifies matter most: academic pressure, identity, financial independence, and the leap into adulthood. Use them in your creative briefs. Drop them into campus activations. Either way, understand the audience before you try to sell to it. 15,000+ partner sources. 100% declared data. Double opt-in, every time. Most agencies talk about "data-driven" campaigns. Ours actually starts with data acquisition, not an afterthought bolted onto a media plan. 🎯 Every dataset runs through a proprietary hygiene-maintenance process before it ever touches a campaign 🎯 Health insurance, auto-refinancing, student loans, military platforms, and more, all performance tested first 🎯 Billions of impressions delivered off audience data this deep Scale means nothing without accuracy. We built for both. See how our data works. https://www.refuelagency.com/research-and-intelligence/ by @refuelagency
A Refuel brand activation case study worth studying: Since 2020, the program combined verified military audience targeting by life stage, branch, and eligibility with multi-channel media (display, social, search, video, email) and on-base events, including Ride and Drive activations at the Military Influencer Conference and Marine Corps Marathon. The results: 🔹 10 million in campaign reach 🔹 300% influencer overperformance 🔹 A viral video exceeding 1 million views and 66,000 likes 🔹 30% growth in military sales 🔹 850% growth in investment versus year one, against $3.1 million in total investment and $1 million in projected future annual revenue None of those numbers come from the on-base events alone, and none come from the digital media alone. They come from both working together, plus audience authentication that confirms the people being reached are actually who the brand needs to reach. That's the structural lesson for any brand considering activation in a specialized audience market: on-ground presence and digital amplification are multipliers of each other, not substitutes. Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube don't do the same job for Hispanic audiences. Treating them like they do is where budgets get wasted. Here's how the data breaks down: 🎥 Instagram: 58% of U.S. Hispanics engage daily. Best for visual storytelling and Stories-driven interaction. 🎥 TikTok: 48% use it daily, and #LatinoTikTok alone has racked up 3.9 billion views. Built for trend velocity. 🎥 YouTube: 86% watch video content there, the highest of any group. This is where long-form authority and deeper brand storytelling land. The brands sequencing content to match these platform habits, rather than repurposing one asset across all three, are the ones seeing the engagement and recall lift. Refuel's multicultural marketing team builds that sequencing into every campaign brief. See how it works: https://www.refuelagency.com/blog/hispanic-influencers-are-rising/ by @refuelagency
Two generations, two completely different reasons to open their wallets. Gen Z is pragmatic: price, function, durability. If it's not a clear deal, it's not happening. Millennials will pay up for the experience, the aspiration, the lifestyle fit. Same funnel, opposite triggers. Sell "value" to a Millennial and "experience" to Gen Z, and you've got the messaging backwards. Here's the full breakdown of what actually drives each generation to buy: https://www.refuelagency.com/blog/cultural-differences-between-millennials-and-gen-z/ by @refuelagency

"Brand activation agency" gets used loosely. Here's what the work actually involves. Five formats, and the strongest programs combine several instead of leaning on one: 🔹 Experiential events and pop-ups: designed participation, not signage 🔹 Mobile tours: the activation travels to where the audience already is (campus move-in, base communities, cultural events) 🔹 Sampling and product trials: the highest-conversion format available, because trying beats seeing 🔹 Sponsorship activation: converting logo visibility into an actual interaction layer 🔹 Influencer and ambassador programs: peer trust, which drives brand consideration more than any paid placement in military, college, and Gen Z audiences The IPA Effectiveness Databank looked at 800+ campaigns from 1998-2024 and found trust-building campaigns were 41% more likely to drive substantial business impact. Activation is where that trust gets built in person. Before hiring an activation partner, ask what access they have that you couldn't acquire independently. That question separates specialists from event production companies. Full evaluation framework here: https://www.refuelagency.com/blog/brand-activation-agency/ by @refuelagency
A "tú" instead of "usted" can make or break how warm your brand sounds. That's how fine the line is. Authenticity with Hispanic consumers isn't judged by whether you used Spanish. It's judged by whether it felt real. 💬 Formality choice changes perceived warmth, not just grammar 💬 Regional idioms build relatability, but only when tested with the actual origin group 💬 One-off campaign stunts don't build trust. Sustained creator partnerships and consistent representation do Family, music, and cultural references only land when they're validated with real community input, not assumed from a brand meeting. Your website has three seconds to impress Gen Z before they bounce. They're mobile-first, TikTok-native, and allergic to clunky checkout flows. Online clothing shopping is up 31% among undergrads since 2019, and platforms like Instagram Shopping and Depop are winning because they blend social discovery with buying, not because they're the biggest name in the game. If your brand's digital experience feels like 2015, Gen Z already left the tab open somewhere else. We dig into where (and how) this generation actually shops: https://www.refuelagency.com/blog/gen-z-spending-habits-2/ by @refuelagency
Most brands run email, display, and social as three separate line items with three separate audiences. Refuel matches all three back to the same person. Our 170 million-record, double opt-in email database gets pre-onboarded into our in-house Data Management Platform (DMP™), matched to digital cookies for programmatic display. Social profiles get built from the same matched email addresses. The result: the person getting your email is the same person seeing your display ad and your in-feed social post. Not a lookalike. Not a modeled segment. The same person, tracked through RAMP™ for full performance transparency. For military, teen, college, and multicultural audiences specifically, that consistency is the difference between reach and recognition.
