I always fancied myself somewhat of a (west) coastal elitist but after this weekend i think I’d rather be in Michigan. I had the pleasure of hosting Dead Letter Fest 2026 in Kalamazoo MI last saturday on behalf of EKA. I had to roll solo dolo ala kid cudi (sans @catherinezeta_bones or @amazingamanda_emokidsanon ) but I held things down (ok, I opened with an israel joke and let @thoughtsonbowling remove my hair and dignity but other than that it was pretty chill).

I’ve never felt so at home in such a far off distant land. I truly love the nation of Michigan and its many locals. Shoutout to all the bands and people that worked behind the scenes and were a part of making DLF so special.

Shoutout to @johnny__schultz and @deadlettersociety.co for inviting me and giving me a live microphone. I can’t wait for next year, I might do juggalo paint.

Special shoutout to all the friends I got to see like @ladeerspute and @_mitch_gulish_ and @thatposthardcore.guy and @chillwavverecords and @itsafederaloffense and @almostkieffer and @dot.jay.peg and @shpookyshkelly and too many others to name.

No shoutouts to @berk.wasson and @mitchell__jay who not only kiiinda waterboarded me, but also slandered me with a folder of very fake but very damning photos tying me to everything from Jan 6 to the unabomber. Not cool yall. @garyzucker you’re not totally innocent here either. I will be getting my revenge upon TOB LLC, either through legal channels or illegal ones.

what’s YOUR favorite Bayside record?👀

Our interview with @anthonyraneri of @bayside is out now on youtube. Top 3 coolest moments in EKA history for me, personally.

What’s your AOTY (so far)?

I’m positive I left off something super obvious so if I did, this is my disclaimer.

happy birthday to my favorite dotter, Nova Blue. You’re way too much like your father and I’m inclined to think that’s a bad thing but you’re absolutely electric. 5 years old and you can already read and dance better than me. by @robblaffoon
