a digital zine on Digital Security Tools

greetings from ~°•☆Rossie World☆•°~, I hope you are all well despite these disturbing times in the world.

the little remants of democracy we've clung on to for the last several years is dissolving. What is democracy without the freedom of speech? The freedom to congregate and protest? We need new tools for this ongoing [digital] revolution. This need is what drives my passion for digital security and what motivated me to create this short 4 page digital zine 🙂

a website version is also available at https://rossie.world/ds-tools (link in bio)

Excited to share that I've been selected to participate in the Electronic Frontier Foundation's (@efforg) Trainer Workshop Series, a 4-workshop series preparing organizers to host their own security training--centering harm reduction, personal planning, and connections to technical, policy, and social context. These next few weeks will be dedicated to refining my pedagogy and educational materials around digital security.

entering my jesus year, 33, and making my presence felt online once again
✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
its been a quiet year on the grid, & noncoincidentally my fiercest battle against capitalism yet. this year has been filled with quiet weekends combing through job listings, stretching my ebt cash, calculating which cards still have funds, & taking care of my lil pup as he transitions into senior life. this year has also been about deep reflections, laying down the work for new systems, structures, and cooperative futures. been fighting like hell for my life and a life I want to build.

please consider donating to @qtstudios415 , a project that im putting all my love and attention to, a project that I believe can b revolutionary for arts & culture, and the overall project to dismantle white supremacy.

f#ck colonization, f#ck black friday, join the movement against state propaganda, policing, genocide, etc. show up, thrown down, see u in the streets or at the Lake tmrw ;) taken in San Francisco Bay Area by @rossie.world

hello beloveds. tuning into your feed to share a lil update from rossie world.

happy to report that i have met my stability fund goal! <3

these last few months have been rough while figuring out how to sustain myself and maintain all the beautiful visions and projects of creative world building that work against the death and destruction of present neo-colonial/imperialist structures. i have already learned so much and excited to continue expanding my knowledge around art, entrepreneurship, and community supported/ alternative economies. over the last decade, whether in community organizing or art spaces, i have often found a lack of this kind of knowledge and i'm excited to bridge that gap within the communities i am part of.

so blessed n grateful to be held up by so many of you during a hard time in my life. thank you for all the post shares n donations. this experience has come with so many ups n downs and finally feeling a lil more at ease. thanks to your support i've been able to pay rent & living expenses, and secure employment for summer!

♡ please enjoy the beautiful images and text that have nourished me these last few months ♡

hiheyhellloo heres a vid of me from dec jammin on my drums, 2 distract u from the horrors

im resonating deeply with the words of Mitali Purkayastha of @BoomshakeMusic on the @ThatsHowTheLightGetsInPodcast, where they talked about the role of music during escalated moments in street protests : "When things are escalated, and we just go into a rhythm with the heartbeat rhythm. It's a literal heartbeat. You might not even know somatically that it's changing your pace too, but it is with everybody around us because those bass drums, when they stop and when they go, people feel that. People feel that. And then when the more like higher notes come in and you're like, in that heartbeat, in that breath, to be able to give that to people in these high stress situations that we have to be in. Music also can be there to like something that can hold us" 🖤

in 2020 i picked up drum sticks for the first time. i first started playing drums during lock down, learning on my own and then by taking classes over skype. i practiced 1 hr/day, 5 days/week. drumming gave me the stability and discipline I needed during uncertain times.

a huge motivator for learning to play the drums was also having a space to experiment and be loud @qtstudios415 . i am excited 2 be thinking of ways to grow this space and how music and visual arts can be tool for dismantling white supremacy and settler colonialism.

in order to contribute to arts/music/movement work, I am currently fundraising for a total of $15,000 to support 5 months of living expenses while I secure full-time work and complete the Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Broadcast and Entertainment Arts at CCSF.

contributing to my stability fund would allow me to fully concentrate on my studies, seek long term employment, and proactively engage in community spaces that organize for collective liberation.

for updates on my fundraising progress please check out my ko-fi page :)

donations can be sent via:

thank you to every1 who has already donated ♡ would greatly appreciate if you could dm 1 or 2 people who might be able to contribute :) thanks for your support ✰♡°•~ by @rossie.world
