Hello from 14K feet! Back to training I go and looking to get back to racing soon. I miss the all that comes with mountain racing. Every time I tell myself that it's the last time I put myself through that kind of pain and suffering but I find myself continuing to want more. I don't know what it is, but I love the competition of me vs me and tuning everything else out. I'm in my zone when I'm out here and nothing can break me but me and that shi* isn't happening. Keep grinding everyone 💪#God1st🙏🏾 #trail #outdoors #trailrunning #niketrail #training #mountains #hiking #raceseason taken in Middle of Nowhere by @running_samuel

Took my training to the Sierra mountains and loved every moment of it! With everything that's going on in the world, it was a must to get away and continue to focus on myself and not things out of my control. After my last race, I realized I had to focus on uphill speed so that was the purpose of this camp..miles on miles of climbing with spectacular views and you can bet I'll be back very soon despite some solo overlanding and hearing the Blair Witch knock on my tent in the middle of the night lol! Cannot wait to race again soon! Training isn't always fun but seeing the progress made from it just adds more fuel to keep grinding 💪 not just running but in life. Stay driven my friends!

Taco Tuesday presents this bad boy: smoked brisket, sunny side egg, and roasted tomatillo salsa between flour. One of my all time favorite 🌮Buen provecho!

Crafting my climbing skills. After my last race in the mountains, I realized it was something I had to address and improve. It's required a ton of uphill running, strength training, and some sacrifices. I get asked alot how long I plan to keep going or if I ever get tired..lol yes I do. My belief is: Do things you love, find your purpose, and listen to your heart, and there you'll find happiness. So I'm running till the wheels fall off. Keep grinding my friends 💪

That look when altitude training is kicking your butt but you know it's paying off. Great tune up race this past weekend as I haven't raced in over a year. Got my A$$ kicked btw!! Now back in training after a couple days off to take on hopefully The Andes or Swiss Alps if schedule permits. Memo to self: prepare to die ⚰

Finally a vegetarian taco! Still figuring out what other ingredients work together to create more vegetarian options. This one starts with seasoned mushrooms over smoked Gouda cheese, topped off with chives and a chipotle crema salsa over blue corn tortilla. Buen provecho & happy taco Tuesday!

Happy Taco Tuesday! 🌮

Pork stew with citrus gastrique and poblano salsa over blue corn. Slow cooked pork shoulder in a guajillo & cascabel marinade. Enjoy it with a nice @donjuliotequila 🙂
