With the state of my place, I haven’t been able to shoot arrows in what feels like two weeks. Finally got back at it for a little bit today, shooting through the rooms, which probably isn’t the safest thing in the world. Nothing like putting a hole straight through a wall. 😂

Really looking forward to building an outdoor setup again and getting back to shooting outside in the coming months. 🍂🏹 by @rvaamanda

As I’m unboxing things in my new space, I’ve found myself questioning what things really mean to me. Some bring me joy, hold memories, or have stories behind them that make them special. But I’m also becoming more aware of the impulse that comes with collecting… the thrill of finding something strange, unusual, or beautiful and feeling like I just have to bring it home.

I know this runs generations deep. Both of my grandmothers were antique dealers and collectors, so maybe my fascination with oddities, antiques, and unique little finds is just in my DNA.

I’ve always idolized Miss Havisham in Great Expectations. There was something hauntingly romantic about an old, dusty home filled with forgotten treasures, frozen in time, surrounded by the ghostly remnants of a life once lived. I’ve always been drawn to that kind of beauty, to the stories objects carry, and to the little pieces of the past we choose to keep around us.

But lately, I’ve been thinking more about what these things actually mean to me… and whether they still mean as much as I think they do.

As I sift through years of collected treasures, trying to make more space and clear some of the clutter from my life, I’m questioning what I truly want to hold onto and what I’m ready to let go of. Not just physically, but emotionally, too. The memories, the attachments, the versions of myself tied to certain things, and maybe even the things I’ve held onto simply because I always have.

Maybe making space isn’t just about having less, but about being more intentional with what I choose to surround myself with.

Funny how going through a lifetime of stuff can make you question so much more than the stuff itself. I guess I’m figuring out what to keep and what to let go of, both physically and metaphorically, and making a little room for whatever comes next. by @rvaamanda
