I spent so much time talking to people at our 4th Annual Gala that I barely took a single video.

And I wouldn't have it any other way.

What makes the Ryan Anthony Head Start Fund Gala special isn't just the turnout. It's the people who come together to support it. From our table sponsors and guests to the bartenders, vendors and everyone working behind the scenes, it's a room full of people who want to see the next generation succeed.

A special thank you to Steve Macchio of Clear Flow Technologies, who's been supporting us since day one. He couldn't make it this year because of work, but I didn't want his generosity to go unrecognized.

We're still getting the final attendance and fundraising numbers together, but I wanted to thank everyone while the night was still fresh.

I appreciate every one of you. by @ryananthonyheadstart

The most valuable thing we give these kids isn't a gift card or a set of tools. It's the opportunity to sit in a room with people who can help them build a future.

At our latest Ryan Anthony Head Start Fund meeting, we recognized students for their commitment to the program. Those still in high school received $250 Brinkmann's Hardware Store gift cards, while graduates received $500 gift cards along with drills, impact guns and drill bit sets.

But the message of the night went well beyond the awards.

Peter Ferrandino of Noor Development Group spoke about his own path, from washing dishes at 14 years old to building a company with more than 500 employees.

He reminded our mentees that there's no single path to success, and that sometimes the most important thing you can do is walk across the room, introduce yourself and start a conversation.

That's why we bring these young people and business owners together every month.

The energy at this month’s @ryananthonyheadstart was unmatched! ⚡DALERS PACKED the room with over 20 current and former students to celebrate their dedication and consistency in the Headstart program.
Shoutout to everyone who attended, and a huge welcome to all the new faces we saw tonight! 🙌 Let’s keep this momentum going.

One conversation could introduce you to a career you never even thought about.

Every month, the Ryan Anthony Head Start Fund brings local business owners, mentors and young people into the same room to talk about opportunities, different trades and what it actually takes to get started.

Our next meeting is Wednesday, November 18th at 7 PM at The Piermont in Babylon.

If you're in high school or trying to figure out your next move, come join us. Ask questions, introduce yourself and see who's in the room.

Last night’s Ryan Anthony Head Start Fund meeting was a special one.

We had a room full of young people and mentors, a great talk from Peter Ferrandino of Nord Development Group, and an opportunity to recognize some of the kids who have been showing up and putting in the work.

Several of our high school graduates received $500 gift cards to Brinkmann’s Hardware Store, along with drills, impact guns and drill bit sets. Students who are still in high school received $250 gift cards as recognition for their continued commitment to attending our meetings.

These kids are showing us that they’re serious about their futures, and we want to keep giving them reasons to stay on that path.

A big thank you to Peter, all of our volunteer mentors and everyone who helped make last night happen.

If you’ve never attended one of our meetings, come see what we’re doing.

A first job may not be the career. It can be the first step toward one.

One of the things we do through the Ryan Anthony Head Start Fund is help high school students find jobs where they can start building real work experience.

Then we hold them accountable.

Do a good job. Show up. Earn the trust of your employer. Build a work history that gives us something meaningful to stand behind when it’s time to help you pursue a career-oriented opportunity after high school.

That’s how we’re trying to bridge the gap between not knowing where to start and actually getting started.

Want to see the program firsthand? Our next meeting is October 7th.

Want to help support it? The 4th Annual Gala is October 15th, and sponsorships are being finalized now.

Sometimes figuring out what you want to do starts by showing up and hearing what’s actually out there.

Our next Ryan Anthony Head Start Fund meeting is Wednesday, October 7th at 7 PM at The Piermont in Babylon.

These meetings put young people in the same room with local business owners and professionals from different fields. Ask questions. Hear how they built their careers. Make introductions. Learn about paths you may not have known existed.

There’s no pressure to have your future figured out before you walk through the door.

Last year, the Ryan Anthony Head Start Fund raised $108,000 at our annual gala. On October 15th, we’re going to try to beat it.

Whether you attend, sponsor the event, donate a raffle basket or simply find a way to support the cause, it all helps us continue creating opportunities for the young people in this program.

And before we get to October, we have a meeting tonight at The Piermont in Babylon. Arrive at 6:30 PM. We start at 7:00.

If you haven’t experienced one of our meetings yet, come see what this program is about.

Sebastian is 18 years old, and he already knows where he wants to go.

His goal is to earn his plumber's license. Through the Ryan Anthony Head Start Fund, he connected with All Suffolk Plumbing and is now working there, gaining experience in construction plumbing and learning another side of the trade.

That's the opportunity we want these meetings to create.

Come in. Meet people. Listen to their stories. Ask questions. Find what interests you. Then take the opportunity and do something with it. by @ryananthonyheadstart

This is why we keep telling our mentees to show up.

You might walk into a meeting unsure of what you want to do and leave having met someone who built a career in an industry you never considered.

Listen. Ask questions. Introduce yourself. Shake someone's hand. Remember their name and make sure they remember yours.

The connections are there. You have to be willing to make them. by @ryananthonyheadstart
