I’m thrilled to be spending a few days this week in residency at @studio9porches in North Adams, MA alongside @samtorresnoise ! Sam and I will be spending our time there getting to know the @meyersoundlabs Spacemap spatial sound technology and will design an immersive show specifically for this system. Piano, everywhere!

Sam and I have been collaborating for years now in developing my live sound. He is 100% the secret sauce. Sam mixes all my shows: he’s constantly tweaking things and making creative decisions about how we convey my music to audiences. He’s very much responsible for the feel of my live performances. This residency will highlight his incredible artistry as an engineer!

If you’re in the area, we hope you’ll join us for this one-of-a-kind performance on Saturday, Oct. 17 ✨ taken in North Adams, Massachusetts by @samtorresnoise

I did it – I just finished mastering my 1,000th track. This is a huge milestone for me and my mastering work, especially since leaving my day job last year. I absolutely love mastering: getting to work with musicians, producers, and other engineers to finish a project is so rewarding, and the technical side of the work scratches my brain just right. I am so grateful that so many wonderful people have trusted me with the important final step of mastering their music. And I have to shout out @chordelectronicspro and @audeze_official for helping me get the tools I use on a daily basis to do the work I do. I wouldn’t be able to do the quality of work I’m proud to be doing without these tools. As you may have seen from the recent studio build videos, big changes are coming for @polymouthmastering mastering in 2027. I can’t wait to see where those lead and I looking forward to working on your music! by @samtorresnoise

Big fancy mastering speakers don’t mean as much in a room that isn’t acoustically treated properly, so while my mastering room’s walls and ceiling are open I’m taking the time to treat the room carefully. The plan is to make the walls and ceilings absorbers themselves, and add diffusion as needed. I’m doing one layer at a time on the ceiling, and measuring the acoustic bleed between upstairs and downstairs after each layer. It takes a lot of time, sweat, and money, but it will be worth it for the future home of @polymouthmastering! by @samtorresnoise

“Hymn for Slowing”, the third and final single from 𝑨𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕!, is out today! This song is a bit of a departure from the last two singles and I can’t wait for you to hear it. It features my love Sam Torres on saxophone, winding around a hymn tune that truly felt like it came to me in a dream. The full album will be landing so soon, next week 🕊️🤍🌀

From Stationary Travels: “one of the record’s most contemplative tracks… a warm and meditative duet with her partner Sam Torres on saxophone that thoughtfully taps into the music she grew up with and its power to resonate and connect.” @stravelsblog

Mixed by Chuck Johnson, mastered by Sam Torres at Polymouth Mastering.

video production company: CHROMOSCOPE PICTURES
camera/director of photography: ZACH DUROCHER
colorist: NICK SPADARO

Video starring: MagnifiCAT and Bella
