A note from Emily: I apologize again for the AI tag. I assure you these posts were made by a person (me) — we are currently without a social media manager and I’m clearly not as well versed as I need to be in how AI works in Canva. I will do better and learn! And if you’d like to join our team as a social media manager DM me 🩷 xoxo Emily

We have an incredible workshop coming up! Tarot Magic will be facilitated by @imori.writes on October 29. Join us for a magical evening ✨

Tarot Magic - Online Workshop, facilitated by Isabella Mori.

R.F. Kuang says ā€œWriting is the closest thing we have to real magic.ā€

Let’s get even closer to magic by seeing how tarot can help with writing. We’ll look at ways to use tarot for prompts, as a writing aid, and to explore ourselves as writers.

No experience with tarot needed, and you don’t need a tarot deck.

Your facilitator: Isabella Mori, M.Ed., writes everything that’s not nailed down, from short to long fiction to nonfiction to poetry. They are the author of three book with and about poetry, including ā€œA bagful of haiku,ā€ and a book about mental health, ā€œBelieve Me.ā€ They run Canada’s most unusual poetry prize, Muriel’s Journey. Isabella has been practicing tarot for a few decades.

This event is hosted by the Sapperton Community Arts Association. Your registration helps support inclusive arts programs and workshops in our community. šŸŽØ

*also I don’t know why this is being tagged as AI but full disclaimer SAPP is against AI and all promotional materials and Instagram posts are made by our volunteers

Steve Miller is a spoken word artist, slam poet, storyteller, performer, workshop creator/facilitator, singer (he thinks), musician (nope but I still try), renaissance handy person (who identifies as a man-kinda). He currently lives and works on the unceded and ancestral territories of the Qayqayt First Nation, the first people of this land, and the shared traditional territories of other Coast Salish peoples, including the Musqueam, Kwantlen, Kwikwetlem, Tsleil-Waututh, and Katzie nations.

Steve Miller’s work is defined by its relatable accessibility, often comedic yet raw honesty and unflinching, confessional style. His poetry courageously explores the complexities of human connection, personal trauma, and the search for healing.
