First dive with the new camera done! Super excited and what a difference it is to the old one ☺️ Very excited to be able to bring more videos and scenes from the underwater world, working on my storytelling and explore our oceans, together with you guys!

Have to thank @fotografit.eu for amazing service and help with the underwater housing, @rogerhorrocks and the Ocean Footage Mastery for developing the cinematic eye, teaching the next generation of underwater cinematographers.

However, @joakimodelberg will always have a special place in my journey, being an underwater cinematographer, a fantastic mentor, that believed in me, lent me gear so I could evolve and supported me when many others didn’t.
I hope some day I will be able to repay the kindness, or pay it forward. ☺️

Also, shoutout to my husband that is okay with my spending 💸💸🫣

Hope you have had a good weekend!
Here in Sweden the temperature is dropping, the sun is setting at 16.00 and the water is getting clearer.
Winter diving in the baltic sea is the best😁

Take care and have a good week!

Thank you all for your kind words, birthday greetings, and celebratory cheers!🥰

Sorry for the late thanks — my schedule has been a bit hectic, and I’ve only just had a moment of respite to gather my thoughts.

This year has so far been a bit of a roller coaster, with plenty of ups and downs. I became a MOD2 instructor for the rEvo, and I switched to a working position that was more sustainable and less likely to have me working myself into the ground. I used to travel 50% of the time for work, but I quickly found out that this wasn’t going to be sustainable in the long run.

I’ve met some fantastic new people in Mexico, Greece, and the Philippines, seen some wonderful new sites, and tried to capture it all with my new camera.

Currently, I’m enjoying being in my “scuba diving wildlife era,” especially here in the Baltic Sea.

I hope all of you guys are doing well, and here’s to another year ahead. I’m curious to see what it holds!

Thank you for having me in your thoughts🥰

Is it just us that are excited for autumn? Probably not!

For me, this marks the time when the big school of perch makes it’s way back to this specific wreck in the Baltic Sea🤩
Here, they will congregate in the hundreds, but for now they are not that many yet!

Waters are still warm and toasty, around +13C, and the visibility wasnt that bad! Looking forward to winter coming and more wreck diving😁

Hope you all had a nice autumn weekend! Take care 🥳

Pekaboo, I see you🥰

Clownfish have a symbiotic relationship with anemones, where they find protection from predators and food. In return, the clownfish lure other fish towards the anemone, and even fertilise it with their faeces.

In a group of clownfish, there is one dominant female, one dominant male, and several smaller males. If the female dies the dominant male changes sex and becomes the new female. At the same time, the largest of the smaller males takes his place as the dominant male.

For clownfish this is how their society continues.

While they are not listed as a critically endageroud, their numbers are decreasing mostly due to their attractivness as ornamental fish. But as I see it, they are much more beautiful in the wild.

A tiny fish living in a rather extraordinary partnership. 🥰

Something dangerous this way comes!

The gobies jump looks cute and fun. What it is, is a danger signal. But to whom?

If you look closely behind, a pistol shrimp hides in the background in its burrow. With poor eyesight, it relies on vibration and feel. The gobies help the shrimp understand when something approaches which gives the shrimp time to hide.

They do it by either jumping, or flicking their tail that rests in close proximity or even on the shrimp which you can see in the video☺️

Why does the goby help the shrimp? Because the shrimp shares its burrow with the gobi, giving them safety and a place of respite. And this relationship will last a lifetime, finding eachother as juvenile, they stay together for the rest of their time.

I think thats very beautiful🥰

Some people find tranquility, others adventure at Apo Island. But my buddy finds fashion🥰

Joking aside, finding trash around the island is not uncommon and while we try to pick up bits and pieces here and there.

Still have a lot of film to go through 😁

Cruising at 70m, looking at corals at 50m, Apo Island is a great place to experience the mesophotic zones. Here, our guide and my buddy enjoy the clear and warm waters☺️

While researchers have spent time to understand if corals can retreat and bounce back from mesophotic zones due to overheating, some research show that it is very hard and for many coral species not possible. While some corals can retreat a bit deeper, its not deep enough to escape potential overheating and bleaching.

Apo Island have the benefit of colder water currents crashing at it’s side, cooling it down and bringing nutrients from deeper waters. So far, Apo Island has never had a bleaching event which is rare and becoming rarer by the years.

No stress, just calm.

Table coral is wonderful and a nice place to rest your eyes☺️
On the surface the diveboat is waiting, but lets stay in the moment a little longer.

The surfare can wait a bit 😁

Mesmerizing, hypnotic!

The feather star, with it’s feather arms that are used to filter food from water, have an old lineage with fossils dating back even over 300 million years.

They either crawl along the seafloor, or, swim as seen in the video. When they need to stop they can anchor themselves using tiny legs called cirri.

When attacked, they can drop an arm to escape and then regenerate it back.

Super cool and wonderful to look at!
